Big D's Newton Grill — Restaurant in Newton Falls

Listen, I’m from out of town, I was tired, and hungry from eating nothing but oatmeal and jerky for a week on the Appalachian trail. On the way into town I googled food in Newton Ohio. My hopes were not high until I noticed a little five star rated joint that claimed to have the best burger in Ohio. Im the kinda person that likes a challenge and I decided to be judgemental and try it.

As I walked in I was greeted by the understanding that everyone knew I wasnt from around these parts and my mind drifted to believe I was in for a meal that most in town believed was delicious but any outsider knew was sub par. I was greeted by 3 kind servers clearly busy but ready to seat me and my buddy. We sat down and took a look at the menu. We ordered drinks brought quickly and the ordered. I got the Big D burger.

We waited, and just when I thought my stomach couldn’t wait any longer our waitress brought out a sizzling burger stuffed and topped with cheese and bacon.

Being a complete noob to this place I put my burger together and dove in for a a bite. A perilous decision. Why you ask? Because I have been conditioned to believe that when you receive a burger at a burger joint it is already cooling off. Instead this burger place has a shred of dignity one is forced to ask where it comes from. The burger was flaming hot and I burned my tongue. You might think I’m upset about this but instead I’m proud to have finally bit into a burger that I haven’t cooked at home that I realize it’s actually still cooked. The flavors filled my senses with complete joy and a slight hint of spice I was so excited I put catch-up on top in the shape of a :-) no no I’m not kidding I actually made a :-) on my burger. Bite after bite I devoured each half pound of delicious cow and immediately became more joyful reflecting on my past week of eating nothing but dehydrated meat and oats. This restaurant has it why does it exist in the small town I don’t know but these people are a blessing and should be commended. If ever I find myself back in Newton Falls Ohio you will find me at big D’s Newton Grill Enjoying another burger and happily plunging my face into molten lava grease spewing from a delicious properly fat contented burger....

This was my first time here. My son chose this place for his birthday diner with the family. Walking in, just looked like your average Mom and Pop diner. We had a party of 7 (which grew to 9 by surprise guests), but were accommodated with a table in the back of the room right away. Burgers and wings seem to be their specialty. I had the Cuban burger and fries. The burger was very juicy, but well cooked. The toppings were perfect and tasted just like a Cuban. Another burger at the table was the PB&JJ, which my son said was delicious. Wings were cooked to everyone's liking that ordered and was surprised by the choices in sauce. The servers were all very nice and polite and although they got busy, they didn't act stressed. I say "all the servers" because they all helped each other. One took our drink order, one took our food order and 2 different girls brought out our food as it was ready. 2 or 3 different girls came back and checked on the table throughout our stay. First time ordering from here , ordered something for my son and I . The chicken sandwich was good & my son seemed to enjoy his burger as well ; However the fries they could’ve kept had I known they were flavorless . Truly disappointing to only eat just the sandwich and have to throw the rest in the trash & my son tossed them on the floor 😑 so I had to clean that up . When placing my order over the phone , the young lady said they were sorta like “jojos “ I actually like jojos, never had them until I moved to Ohio and they do not disappoint ! I typically don’t eat from Ohio made restaurants anyway(because the lack of seasoning or other ) , but was giving things a try . At least if they weren’t gonna put salt on it , least season the batter or something . Anyway , the burger and chicken sandwich was very nice . Would order again if the fries were ...
