i cant sugarcoat it, the carne asada pictured below shocked me. of my entire order i was able to eat maybe a few ounces of rice and their free side of tortilla chips. onions are described as “grilled”, they didnt look, feel or taste like they were. more slimey and baked or sauteed than anything. the “carne” is essentially an under-or-unseasoned, extremely well done, dry, thin grocery store steak. i was still willing to power through because of how much it costs despite the obvious fact that this is the least carne asada looking carne asada ive ever looked at, until i cut myself a bite sized piece and put it between my teeth, tasting nothing and already getting an overwhelming sense of toughness. basically nothing was eaten that day. went to bed hungry, but moreover i just need to emphasize the silence that befell me when i opened my order. there’s no reason anyone should ever have to let this be their only mexican option. saddest most eastern european looking “mexican”...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem. The building is old and if you were to judge it by its looks, you may pass it by. The bathrooms need to be updated badly and the entrance is poorly marked. The service was good. The server was very friendly and she did her job very well. The food here was excellent compared to many other Mexican restaurants we have been to. The dish was served on a hot skillet, the rice was tender and not over cooked, and the chicken was juicy which is rare to get. The overall dish had so much flavor, I debated ordering another just to take home, but I didn't need to because the portion size was large enough that I had plenty to take with me. The enchiladas were well above average. Every ingredient stood out in the dish and had a life of their own. Even the lettuce was crispy. We will...
Read moreI've had way better... I ordered the lunch special #1. Chili relleno stuffed with cheese and beef and one taco. The relleno I got had only cheese in it. When I told the waitress about it she went and got the manager who insisted that's the way they make them. I said it's not what's on the menu and not what I ordered. Realizing I wasn't going to give in to their mistake he took my plate back and slopped on a tablespoon of ground beef on top of my relleno. He then had the waitress cross out 'and beef' on all the menus. Ridiculous, and it tastes like crap on top of all that. If you're alright with eating slop, then go here as I DO NOT recommend this to anyone...
