So first and foremost, if you're like us and just passing through, don't be turned off by the slightly outdated decor. Everything is very clean and the food makes up for any lack of modernity in design tenfold. So first, the staff is very friendly. This has been noted by a lot of other reviewers but it could stand to be said again. Our waitress made certain she understood what my dad meant by rare and told me she could have them put plain spaghetti under my chicken francaise, which was perfect. And then the food. Someone else here in the reviews recommended the meatballs, so my mom got an order of those. I normally would have tried a bite, but they were so good she refused to share. As I mentioned, my dad likes his steak bloody, and they delivered (which is admirable; usually when he orders steak we have to send it back for being too done). And my chicken francaise on a bed of spaghetti was seriously some of the best I've ever had. I became obsessed with the dish after having it in Little Italy (which I know is hardly even Italian anymore... shh) and this place's version was better than theirs. Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisclaimer: trying to stay gluten free in a mostly Italian restaurant is very difficult and unfair to judge their homemade foods. With that said, I see the menu has quite a variety to choose from. I picked the seafood platter, but I think I should have tried a steak or chicken breast. The menu talked of fish, shrimp and crab, along with scallops. I didn't get scallops. The fish was breaded well with corn meal and tasty. The shrimp was too breaded. The owner should change the frozen bag of shrimp for something else. Crab mix in shell pretty good. Both tarter sauce and the horseradish sauce were there. I chose the rice pilaf, which had good flavor. I chose their vegetable soup, which shows their homemade skills. I don't like hot spicy, yet the vegetable soup had just the right amount of twang in it. Overall I must come back and give them a second chance, just because their soup and rice pilaf was great. I think their other homemade items should be bangin. Seafood platter needs improvement. Waitress friendly and did well. Place was clean and the right atmosphere. Staff...
