Sweet cafe and bistro with the charm of Italy We decided to walk over to this charming little spot in the Auburndale section of Newton while visiting our son and his friend. There's ample street parking and a lot across from the restaurant. Charming first appearance outside with three wrought iron tables and chairs with umbrellas that were nicely flanked with pots of lovely flowering plants. Once inside to the left and in front of you is the bar area with a few tables at the window and perhaps 6 seats at the bar. To the right and straight back is the seating for approximately 30. Brick walls, nice lighting and a very friendly atmosphere. It reminded me of a lovely cafe in Siena. The boys opted for burgers, Turkey w lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and homemade cranberry relish and The Portabella (Vegetarian) with Grilled portabella, grilled vegetables, Brie cheese. You can request gluten free bread. It was casual plating served with a bag of chips and a zesty garlic pickle. My Mediterranean Salad was fabulous and I mean it! Ice cold and crisp romaine lettuce with a generous scoop of hummus, tabbouleh, artichoke hearts, olives, yalanchi grape leaves, eggplant salad, roasted red peppers, wedges of lemon and yummy grilled wheat syrian bread. I will definitely order this again! Our waitress was very kind and efficient. We happened to be there on the night of the bartender Anthony's birthday! So it was cake for everyone! Such a nice crowd too. They have a case at the end of the bar with all their delightful homemade desserts - cannoli's, tira mi su, cakes, cookies! Next time we'll have to try a few. Their dinner menu changes nightly so go with an adventurous palate and prepare to be delighted. Looking forward to the next mouth watering meal...

Stopped in to meet my bestie and her mom for an early dinner at 5:00. There is ample parking nearby which makes it a plus especially for restaurants in Newton! We were pleasantly greeted by the bartender (or chef I wasn’t sure because he overheard my order and said “I can make whatever you want” which was fantastic news! The waitresses were on top of their game, water glasses filled, constantly checking on us. No apps just mains, the lobster/shrimp scampi, chicken piccata, eggplant parm and the steak tip special! The food came out quickly, was portioned well and delicious…our plates were clean. By 6:00 pm the place was almost full and I can see why. We shared a few desserts and although I would have eaten the entire tray of tiramisu the lemon cake was the winner…slightly tart with a buttery cake, not overly sweet and a perfect way to end the meal.

Found this hidden gem tucked in a corner, and went in as this place looked really cute from the outside. We went in, was immediately greeted by a staff member - super nice and friendly. Luckily, there were still 2 tables available for 3 inside during the start of dinner rush. We ordered the calamari appetizer, and then the entrees - veal piccata, lobster carbonara and their steak tips. The calamari were fried to crispy, which was delicious! My veal piccata was cooked to perfection, the sauce was just right - not salty at all, and they put in tons of mushrooms and artichokes in the pasta, and the pasta was cooked to al dente! My sister had the lobster carbonara and she said it was amazing, and my nephew had the steak tips and ate almost everything! Definitely give them a try, if you haven't already!

We stumbled upon this gem near our place a few days ago and we can’t wait to go back. We popped in for lunch, and from the moment we walked in, the waitress greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every bite was delightful, prepared with care and bursting with flavor. We tried soups + sandwiches and everything was to die for. And the atmosphere? Cozy and inviting, the kind of place you want to linger and savor the moment. Their tiramisu with a cup of coffee -served with Italian cookies bites on the side - was the perfect ending to our unforgettable experience. Thank you ❤️✨ If you're in the mood for a friendly welcome, mouthwatering Italian cuisine, and a cozy spot to dine, look no further. This place ticks all the boxes!

Saw this on Phantom Gourmet. We decided to try it, No disappointment here whatsoever, it was delish. They combined the chicken and eggplant parm and it was great. The eggplant was so thin, it was perfect. No skin on edges either, that usually ruins an eggplant parm. I tried my wife's Chicken Marsala and that was delicious too. They were out of their tiramisu which was disappointing but that was prob because they were busy, at 830 when we could get our reservation, the place was still packed!! They did have a dessert called Affogato, which was delish and made from similar ingredients to Tiramisu. I found a new dessert, who knew.... I am a wicked foodie, and I will def be back. Thank you Bocca Bella!!

It’s a 3.5 star review really. A rather average taste for everything including undercooked broccoli and chicken in a starched sauce. Solid espresso, good service. I think the place’s strength is in appetizers due to interesting cold cuts, pickled veg and ample servings. Il tiramisu, pero è un cento grammi (letteralmente) di disastro. Top layer half dry, serving is in the photo below and the flavor is metallic (for whatever reason). My first attempt to make that in a common dorm kitchen of Umass with a hand whisk was better. Will be back since it’s my local within the walking distance but will play it safe with a burger, appetizers and coffee.
