C & N Pizza and Grille — Restaurant in Newton

Excellent chicken caesar wrap (on white)! Bigger than expected (more than enough for lunch - definitely worth the $15, the going price these days) and I appreciated that they put REAL parmesan cheese (as in, seemingly-from-Italy real) on it, which gave the wrap a nice kick.

Menu was very impressive / had a surprising amount of options for such a small place.

People working there (one or more of whom I’m guessing was the owner) were very nice - a group of 4 or 5 guys. One of the older gentlemen smiled and gave me a big "good-bye", a minor detail, but not many people seem to do that anymore / gave the place a nice welcoming / family vibe.

Very busy (noontime on a Tuesday) - several subs were lined up waiting to be prepped and there was a hustle bustle atmosphere behind the counter, signs that they do a good business and that the people who work there want to be there / enjoy being there.

Customers seemed to be a mix of people / ages / races and I didn’t get a sense that anyone cared as to who was who, in line with the welcoming vibe.

They have a few older style / Formica booths and small tables (clean), so you can eat there pretty easily.

Plenty of parking in the municipal lot (metered) in the back, with access to the shop from the backdoor. There are also several metered spaces out front.

I became a fan of the restaurant when i began working in the newton area. The chicken caeser wrap and pizza is outstanding ! However today was a not so pleasant experience , I ordered buffalo chicken fingers that were not buffalo at all. It tasted almost like a cajun rub in the chicken and when I called the restaurant he proceeded to tell me its a dry buffalo rub. I informed him that wasnt what I ordered and also the website mentions nothing about a dry rub. If I knew this before hand , I would have never ordered it. The man that got on the phone after screaming about it in the background , proceeded to say its a popular item and hes been selling it for 10 years. Not sure what that had to do with todays order, but it was sarcastic and a lack of customer service.

Hopefully they update their website for transparency, and actually care about customers when they have a disappointing...

C&N is an excellent pizza joint and a neighborhood gem. There's something so comforting about having an awesome pizza place right down the street. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge! Plus the people there are so nice, and I can tell they're taking all the covid19 precautions seriously.

Some of my go-to orders are: Steak&cheese subs. Delicious and absolutely enormous Greek salad. Nice fresh mix of veggies with great dressing and feta cheese ANYTHING with grilled chicken. Seriously, the grilled chicken is some of the best I've ever had! Also worth noting that they sell pints of...
