We tried Thai Amarin on a week night and really enjoyed ourselves. It was not too busy but not deserted either. The ambience was lively and the staff was friendly and patient too. A special mention for the person who took our order(I wish I had caught his name): we were a group of 7 and we ordered multiple appetizers, main course dishes and beverages with quite a few specifications. He managed to take our order without writing it down and got it right, including all the specifications! We were skeptical about our orders, but were pleasantly surprised. Thanks for that!

About the food: Firstly, considering we weren't the only group in the restaurant, the food came out pretty fast. The portions size were good and the ingredients were fresh! We loved the taste overall. The only thing we felt was that mushrooms weren't cooked enough in our entrées. But otherwise, can't think of anything negative about the experience.

Will definitely recommend and...

Ordered takeout for the first time here. People liked the noodle dishes they got, drunken noodles were quite spicy, but that's how they're supposed to be (ordered "medium spicy"). The curries were also ordered "medium spicy", and they're supposed to be spicy, but the curry we got was basically ginger-flavored coconut milk, barely any spice at all. It did taste good, but it's just not what was ordered. People ordering Thai food expect curry to be spicy, especially if they order it spicy. There was a mild and a no spice option for people who just wanna drink coconut milk. Also annoyed that the curries don't come with rice – for almost $20 a dish, just throw in a little scoop of rice so we can actually eat the food you gave us! I had to wait half an hour for rice to cook after getting home and finding no rice in the bag. I should've just made curry at home at that point and then it could've actually...

I and my son visited our preferred restaurant for celebration or solace. I was struck instantly by the unattractive new decor, but this awoke no fear. We ordered our favorites beef red curry and chicken yellow curry neither tasted or smelled right; my son was unable to eat his chicken yellow curry due to the unpleasant smell. we told the waiter the chicken curry would not be eaten and were allowed to order another dish: Pad Thai noodles, ever a favorite. my son actually liked and ate it all. I on the other hand smelled the same repellent odor and taste and couldn't finish my share. we are both upset. we've loved and eaten at the Amarin for years, never disappointed or repelled, finishing every scrap and happily sharing the delicious food. We can't remember one bad experience they could be having a bad day. what happened to the real Amarin? The service was OK, but today's menu...

Amarin offers a light, bright style of Thai cooking, quite different from the creamy sauces at most area Thai restaurants. This style calls for very fresh protein, vegetables and herbs, as the sauce cannot cover up ingredients that are less than perfect. The curries are fresh, with a clean, light sauce. Each dish is prepared fresh and arrived hot from the wok. The dining room is slightly below street level, nicely presented. The table is well presented, and the room is decorated with interesting Thai artworks. Service is excellent. Our server paid just the right amount of attention and was a pleasant and charming person. The restaurant is on a busy corner but there is lots of parking at the building.
