Hy-Vee Bakery — Restaurant in Newton

I'd rate it a 5 except for the lady who confirmed my order was rude. Celebrated my daddy's birthday when we were home one full day this last week. A little late, but better than never. Paiz and Brooklynn came up with the idea, and the cake design. Paiz called me and said "Grandma Di, PaPa Daryl did not get a cake for his Birthday. Only a KFC cake. We need to get him a cake." I asked her okay what do you want to do? She said "I want a man hunting in a tree, with a gun, deer on the ground and red leaves." I said wow you have really thought about it. She said yep. I asked what does Mae Mae want and Mae Mae said Blue, pink, and Turkey. So after all this I called Hyvee and ordered the cake. (The only place we go) The lady who called to confirm the order was rude and acted as if she did not want me to order it. Saying things like well that is a lot on that cake, I said okay I can order a bigger one. She said that is not what I am saying. I said alright so what?she goes well (in a rude voice) it will look cartoonish. I said it is okay by this time getting upset because of how I am being treated, they are just going to eat the damn thing and my two granddaughters came up with the whole idea. She must have noticed because she then said well I'll just put the order in then. I said good. Anyway I know two ladies at Hyvee who always do amazing work and one is Amy Carlson Cunningham.
