Hy-Vee Market Grille — Restaurant in Newton

Started out great when we moved here, but has been disappointing these last few trips. The first one we had a server who all but ignored us, with only one set of refills and then had to be hunted down to pay the check 20 minutes after he dropped it off, when we were clearly done and waiting. This was midafternoon with only a handful of other diners. Mind you, he made several trips to the booth next door but never gave us another glance. I noted his name so as not to be give his table again.

The most recent meal was dinner hours and they were genuinely busy, so I forgave the 32 minute wait from ordering to eating. Though two of our orders arrived almost cool while one was sizzling hot, so it was clear which ones had been done and sitting out for some time while the third was being cooked. But our poor server did her best to be attentive and apologized several times for the wait. I'll give them one more shot, and if it's as dismal, we'll write the place off. Plenty of other places to get good, hot...

Food tastes good but it’s expensive for what you get. Got a cheeseburger and fries. There was maybe 12 fries on the plate for an adult. I got my cheeseburger and it was just a burger and a bun. The guy giving us the food was grumpy and said nothing.

Also, we ordered at the express counter instead of sitting and being waited on.. well.. it took 45 min to get our food even without a waiter.. and there was probably 8 people in...

Well this is the last time i try eating st your grill when a Business says they are Open till 800 pm You would think you could come in at 7:30 and still order a meal but not the case at your grill this is the second time this has hapoened why not just say your closed at 730 if you dont want the Business!!
