This place was an all star and all around great experience! I don't remember the last time eating food at a restaurant that was so good that I cleaned my plates off! But here, I did and finished every last chip and dip and food we had, it was that great and flavourful!
Guacamole was perfect and probably the best I've had, tortilla chips were super fresh, crispy and not oily at all which was surprising to me since they're always kinda where most mexican restaurants falter.
I had the veggie tostados which were delicious, packed and just the right serving to fill you up properly by your last bite. My partner had the flautas which were packed with meat and had a nice smoky, umami, spicy flavour to it.
The elotes were excellent because of the sauce and overall the service was extremely attentive and helpful. Each member of the staff greeted and served us with a radiant smile which only comes when you're really proud of the place you work at and the food you serve.
Lastly, this was by far the cleanest and nicest bathroom I've ever seen in a restaurant that didn't smell like a bathroom at all! All the details in the bathroom spoke of someone thoughtful behind it. Multiple hooks, spacious, good and refreshing air freshener that wasn't overpowering and a giant mirror, stuff that's hard to get right and maintain!
I highly recommend this womxn owned small business for its excellent service and food! Don't pay attention to the reviews that complain of food being salty or whatever because they're clearly not used to well seasoned food that actually has flavours. The seasoning in every dish we had was just right. Thank you for the wonderful food and this surely won't be the last time I visit this place!
PS there's plenty of free parking further up the street and on side streets if you don't want to park in...
Read moreFound this hidden gem on Instagram one day and the birria tacos served here looked insane so of course I had to try it! The restaurant is small but the staff are super sweet. You can try and walk in; however, the place does fill up quickly so try and get a reservation if you can! Started off with an order of guacamole and chips with some salsa and upon first glance it looks pretty regular. But the first bite of the guacamole and you can feel how smooth and zesty it's been made. The salsa was also delicious with some heat! For entrees ordered the Al pastor burrito and of course the birria tacos. The burrito was massive and a very interesting take on a burrito as it was crispy and seared well unlike most burritos which are usually quick soft and floppy. But no flops here. Pair each bite with the guac or salsa and it's perfect moving on to the star of the show, why I came here! The birria looks amazing. I loved how crispy the fried cheese was. Similar to the burrito, most birria taco spots make a wet and floppy taco, but no flops here!! The meat was super tender and you can tell it's been stewed inside the consume for hours maybe even days?! Each bite was better than the last. My only warning is due be mindful of how much consume you're consuming as it's a little salty and you might not notice it until after you've left the restaurant or even...
Read moreUPDATE: I have gone back a few times since my incident and I can say that I haven't had any issues with service since. I commend ownership for taking accountability on this and have updated my review accordingly. I am leaving the original text for transparency
Normally I love coming to this place as the food is amazing and I don't think anywhere else in Boston does pambazos.
However, the other day we made a reservation on the phone for Friday dinner and when we arrived we were told our reservation was for Saturday. When we brought up that we had called and reserved for Friday, we were told that we were wrong and the Google Voice said Saturday. I stated that I did not use the Google Voice and that I had called and someone had picked up the phone. Nothing was done to attempt to resolve the situation and instead I was told nothing could be done; my entire party had arrived and had to just stand around. We ended up getting takeout and all the workers just took our order and just ignored us. There was no attempt to formally apologize or make amends of any sort.
I love the food of this place but I think it's important to highlight significant customer service issues and hope ownership takes accountability instead of blaming the customer for a wrong...
