We are big fans of Pho Viet's II! We've been several times, so we've tried a number of things:
The banh mi (sandwiches) is our favorite! The bread is fresh, the meat is well-marinated and flavorful, the fixings are standard (cucumbers, pickled daikon & carrot, jalapenos, cilantro), and the melting butter spread inside the bun takes it to another level! The bread makes a difference - at some places, my jaw will end up being sore from all the chewing, but not here! We get a banh mi pretty much every time we're here.
The pho (noodle soup) is solid - the broth is pleasantly beefy in flavor, not too sweet or salty. Happily fulfills my pho/noodle soup cravings.
The noodle salad is solid as well, with well-marinated meat and standard fixings (bed of lettuce, bean sprouts, and noodles, topped with pickled vegetables, cilantro, scallions, and crushed peanut).
The egg rolls are scrumptious - a crisp, flaky wrapping, filled with a tasty mixture of minced pork, vermicelli, mushroom (and more) with a balanced wrap-to-filling ratio.
The scallion pancakes are fine - they're fried a bit too much for my taste, but still retain a decent amount of scallion flavor.
The milk tea is actual tea (not from powder or concentrate), and they use sweetened condensed milk - the good stuff. You can ask for less sweetness, which just means less condensed milk. The tapioca bubbles are okay, depending on the...
Read moreWe have been coming here for years even though we live two towns away, and thought it was quite good, but we were shocked at how bad the food was tonight. We ordered one pork vermicelli bowl and one beef pho. The pho beef broth was bland and over salted, the beef itself some leathery, flavorless strips. The pork on the vermicelli bowl looked and tasted like it had been boiled instead of grilled, several days ago, until it was chokingly dry. It was garnished with three small mint leaves that were brown and mushy. One bite and I pitched all of the meat and the rotting mint into the trash, and cut up a leftover chicken thigh I had at home and used that on top of the noodles instead.
I can’t rate the service because they have none, all they have are a couple of people attempting to take your takeout order, and not doing so well at that because they don’t understand spoken American numbers.
If they had table service we would have sent all the food back, but lacking an opportunity to do that since we drove 40 minutes roundtrip to pick up food there, we will simply throw out the rest of this awful meal, and never go back. By the way, I am certain they use MSG in...
Read moreThe food is absolutely delicious! Vietnamese food is among my favorite ethnic cuisines. I grew up eating it at my friend's homes. My love for the unique flavor complexities and freshness won my heart. I typically have high expectations for this cuisine and this restaurant definitely passed the bar with flying colors. I ordered a beef bahn mi with extra veggies and an appetizer of crab rangoons. The bahn mi was everything I was hoping for. The veggies were extremely fresh and crisp, the meat, savory and perfectly marinated and tender. And of course the crusty french bread wrapping it all together with the perfect amount of fish sauce & mayo. The portion size was extremely generous, as was the price. Enough so, that I can have the other half for lunch tomorrow. The crab rangoons were also beyond satisfactory, the shells was perfectly crisp and chewy with a lucious creamy crab filling. The ingredients used are of superior quality and integrity and you can tell that the food is made with pride. I am looking forward to eating here again and trying their bubble tea and pho next. Thank you for a lovely...
