[August 2013] I grew up on PR in my hometown. I have always loved the "Texas Taco", "Round Up" (supreme), cheese pizza and of course their amazing chicken. We were so happy to have a PR here in Newton, our new home! The customer service was great, the food was awesome and we picked up or had delivered WAY too often!! (5-stars at this point)
[2015 or so] About 5-7 years ago they changed their crust. We were heartbroken! Additionally, we experienced a series of issues that deterred us from ordering their anymore. They seemed to have decreased their already very limited business hours (frustrating on weekends or after school events), we had a series of issues attempting to call or place orders online (staffing related?)... so really we stopped trying to use them. I drive past there to and from work and fully expected it to go out of business when the pandemic hit! (...chicken still rocked and the toppings were still wonderful... 3-stars)
[2022] Newton PR still alive and kickin'! I was really craving my old favorite the Texas Taco... So I ordered a small one day when I was exhausted and hungry. The crust is still different than I remember, but way better than the showstopper a few years ago...and everything else was still AWESOME! Phones work, online works, customer service has been great and we are back to being regular customers!! ...
Read moreWe ate at the Pizza Ranch in Newton today. We were there about 330pm. I only wanted the salad bar, and I should have checked it before paying. It was extremely bare. There was no regular lettuce, and no protein options. The egg, chicken, olive, and pickle dishes were empty. They have three bottles of ranch and all were empty as well. I mentioned the dressing and the lady said she had to refill, and they were done 25 minutes later. When I asked her about the eggs, she said that they were working on refreshing the salad bar and she would get them as soon as possible. When we left, the eggs, chicken, and olives were still empty. The pizza looked old, my wife ended up eating pepperoni and taking the pepperoni off as it was quite nasty. They also did not ask if there were any pizza that we wanted. When I mentioned the eggs and chicken to a lady, she chuckled at me and said that they were busy, I guess if three tables was busy, then maybe they were.
Within 15 minutes of leaving, both my son and I had severe stomach cramps and within 30 minutes, my son was throwing up on the side of the road.
I have eaten at various Pizza Ranch's and this is by far the worst, actually the worst service...

Funzone and Dining Experience:
Dining Experience: The busboy is always the sweetest. I don't know his name but he's worked there forever. Wasn't much pizza out but they apologized without us even mentioning and said they have some coming soon. 5-10 minutes later, it was all good. Desserts weren't too full so we didn't enjoy it much.
Funzone: Kids had fun at the arcade area. Pssst! So did I. 😊 Gentlemen was nice at the service desk. We had a machine with an issue, he made it right. DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR GAME CARDS. They are $2 piece and can be reloadable. Otherwise you'll have to buy a new one. I would suggest moving the ski ball machine away from the wall. I'm right handed as most people are, and it was hard to roll the ball up the way I typically do because I didn't have room to move over to the left. I was basically rolling the ball starting from the middle of my legs.
Four Years Ago Pizza Ranch has always been good about keeping fresh products out or bringing out fresh food when requested...
