We had a fantastic dinner here. (First time at this restaurant and never there when it was a pizzeria). Don’t let the fact that it is in a strip center fool you into thinking it’s anything but a really nice interior. It definitely has the feeling of being downtown once you were inside. The layout, lighting, fixtures, etc., are top-notch. There is a full bar with lots of wine choices. I had the Greek red and it was very good. We really enjoyed the appetizer of the spreads (hummus, baba, and tzatziki ). The pita was warm and grilled. 4 of us shared it and it was a nice start. We also had an order of the grilled chicken wings, which were charbroiled and very tasty. The feta fries, though good, weren’t what we were expecting. But we ate them all anyway! All of the entrees with grilled toppings were excellent. The grilled shrimp , grilled salmon and grilled chicken souvlaki were delicious. The Greek salad was amazing. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The restaurant had only been open a month but it felt like they were there forever. The place was packed but we were served in a timely fashion and courses were paced well. The deserts were excellent. We had the baklava and the chocolate torte with ice cream. Such a great ending. Noise level was very high at the beginning. Hard to have a conversation but we were told there would be sound abatement soon. Once the restaurant cleared out a little, it was better. The owners worked the crowd and made you feel like family. We definitely plan to go back. You could have a full three course meal or just go in for a burger and fries or a pizza. Next time I want to try the pizza. It looked really good.

EDIT: management said that they don’t have a slice for $7.50. Here’s an image on my card showing $10.27 for one slice of pizza plus tip. One slice of pizza with the onions. I have visited Carmine’s twice since the renovations, once for lunch and once for dinner. They did a gorgeous job with the new decor and the place looks great. On my lunch visit, I was surprised to pay $7.50 for one slice of pizza that was … good. I can get a better slice on the boardwalk down the shore for about $4. The boardwalk should never be a better deal. The service was also slow considering there was one other single patron at the time. When I returned with my family for dinner, I’m happy to say that our service was much better - friendly, attentive and efficient. The pizza with bacon and figs was enjoyable. The dough is thin with the right char, the figs and caramelized onions were sweet and creamy, and the bacon was crispy. My mom enjoyed her sandwich. We enjoyed our cocktails, but in the $15 - $18 range it felt steep for the location. The new vibe is great, but I’m missing the neighborhood pizza vibe.

The first thing I noticed upon walking in was the pizza oven...I had never seen a stone oven quite like that and it immediately intrigued me. The pizza choices all sounded great, but decided to go with both the Pesto Pizza and Prosciutto Pizza. The Pesto was fantastic, especially with the subtle crunch of the crushed pistachios and the juicy burst of the tomatoes. And the Prosciutto was equally as delicious, as the saltiness of the meat paired very well with the cheese and crust. Both pizzas had crusts that were cooked perfectly. Additionally, went with the Short Rib Arancini as an appetizer, which may have been the best decision of the night. It was like a combination of creamy risotto + an elevated cheesesteak + a fancy mozzarella stick. It was amazing and I would definitely get it again. On top of all the fabulous food, the service was great. Ornela was attentive, knowledgeable, and very polite. The food came out in a timely manner. Carmines checked every box that I would look for in a dining experience and I will be back again!

Carmine's in Newtown Square is an absolute gem, offering an exceptional dining experience that truly stands out. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with warm and friendly service that sets the tone for a wonderful meal.

The food at Carmine's is nothing short of spectacular. Each dish is crafted with care and precision, reflecting the expertise of the talented cooks in the kitchen. The menu is diverse and filled with delicious options, but there are a few standout items that deserve special mention.

First and foremost, the pizza at Carmine's is phenomenal. The crust is perfectly crisp, the sauce is flavorful, and the toppings are fresh and generous. It's easily some of the best pizza I've ever had. Whether you prefer a classic Margherita or something more adventurous, every bite is a delight.

The meatballs are another highlight. Tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection, they are a testament to the culinary skill and dedication to quality that defines Carmine's.

Beyond the fantastic food, the service is impeccable. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring every guest has a memorable experience. They strike the perfect balance between being attentive and giving you space to enjoy your meal.

A special shoutout goes to Costa, the owner, who does an outstanding job managing the establishment. His commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of Carmine's, from the welcoming atmosphere to the meticulously prepared dishes. Costa's presence adds a personal touch that makes dining at Carmine's feel like being part of a family.

In summary, Carmine's in Newtown Square is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates incredible food, top-notch service, and a well-managed restaurant. Whether you're in the mood for the best pizza around, mouthwatering meatballs, or any of the other delectable items on the menu, you won't be disappointed. Five stars...

Let me preface this by saying that yesterday the 10th of April was my first time at carmine's. The food was good and the prices reasonable however the server/ bartender with the right eyebrow piercing made the experience incredibly uncomfortable and unenjoyable for my girlfriend and I. I was facing towards the entrance of the restaurant and my girfriend was facing towards the bar. So I could only see him when he walked over to our table to check on us. For some reason he took this opportunity to stare and check out my girlfriend for the entire duration of our meal. Now besides the fact that my girlfriend and I are together and wearing rings so we're obviously together I dont see why any employee would go out of his way to flirt with and make a customer uncomfortable. He even went so far as to wink at my girlfriend then immediately after he came over to take the check and money and decided to try to get a tip, by standing there for several seconds after saying he could come back with the change. I really really really dont think its morally right or fair to try to get a tip out of me after making my girfriend uncomfortable during our meal. In summation the bartender/ server went out of his way to be gross and unprofessional. If it wasn't for him we would certainly be back because the other staff was lovely and the food was very good. But I can not in good conscience support a business and an employee who thinks its okay to go out of their way to make customers uncomfortable, to be grossly disrespectful and to neglect their job in favor of hitting...
