I went to the Newtown library today hoping to enjoy some quiet time to take an exam. I was very upset and frustrated with the constant chatter of the librarian throughout my two hour visit and the noisy children's play section. There was zero volume control. In fact the librarians assistant was the one creating much of the noise through his loud nonstop unnecessarily long conversations with every patron who stopped by the front desk. Parents were bringing their children in to play with the small kitchenette toy which emitted a constant faux whistle. When did libraries stop being a place where people could come for peace and quiet? Two patrons next to me had to leave due to the noise and one said they were planning to report it to administration. COVID pandemic has really made me more isolated and I lost a lot of friends and been very lonely outside of work. I am looking forward to coming to the library for some of these events to join with people with...

A day without a good book is not a good day at all! The staff made it so easy to choose a book and pick it up, usually within 24 hours. The "Pop Up" book sale was the highlight of my day during one visit. What a thrill it was during those dark days to peruse the book cart and find a gem of a book for $1. ...
