I have used this bakery before but noticed it's starting to fail over the past year or 2. This time I ordered cupcakes for a retirement party at work. Three dozen cupcakes, half chocolate half vanilla with sprinkles. I was immediately told that the owner doesn't like sprinkles but since they could not decide how to decorate them they would do it. When I picked up the cupcakes I was in for a shock- the price was $72! I questioned how much the price was and asked the per cupcake price and was told $2 dollars per cupcake and for 36 cupcakes it came to $72. Since these were for a retirement party at my office building and I had made the order a week ahead I didn't have many alternatives. I had not seen them but assumed since they were coming from the bakery that they would be well made and decorated, so I paid the price and left with the cakes. They were served the next morning at the Main Line Health building and I was horrified when I opened the boxes. Only half had sprinkles and they looked like children had iced and decorated them! There was nothing grand or even "made at a bakery" looking about them. Their flavor was average and I could have gotten them at Acme and had nicer looking cakes - as well as CHEAPER! I will not be purchasing cake from this bakery anymore. Luckily I had purchased some happy retirement spikes for cupcakes so it was not a complete disaster. The impression that was left on the guests was also noted because most people made a comment about how they looked. The guests were looking at the top of the boxes and where shocked that these were...

Recently, I ordered a 8-10 person Black Forest Cake on a Friday with a Sunday pickup. I knew when I called I could be denied because I think this is one of their busiest months (graduation parties, birthdays, etc). To my delight, the owner’s daughter graciously accepted my order. It was for my daughters’ birthday and I requested a “Happy Birthday “ message on the cake in pink and purple writing. The cake did NOT disappoint!!! It was nicely decorated and absolutely delicious!!!! I have ordered Black Forest cakes and other baked items in the past and each time they were delicious!!! Yes, they cost more money than a grocery store, but I know I am getting a freshly baked good that is so delicious!!!! To me, it is well worth the price!!!! I think the owner and her daughter do a fantastic job!!! Added bonus: she matched the pink and purple color to the correct name on the cake without me telling her!!! You can’t...

What a delicious old school bakery. When you think of a bakery that has all of the beautiful array of cookies that you see on a platter for a special event, this is that place. Plus their cakes, cinnamon buns, everything I have ever gotten here, is absolutely delicious. You can tell that this is all natural baking with no junk. Real butter, really ingredients, delicious. I'm a firm believer that little bit of something done well with delicious ingredients is much better than a whole lot of junk that comes from a supermarket. Oh by the way, their pricing is terrific. As someone who also frequents the Italian bakeries in South Philly, I can tell you that this is a much...

What a wonderful old-school bakery. I recently moved hours away from the bakery I used to use. I love good pound cake with buttercream icing. That is difficult to find. For my son's 5th birthday party, I decided to try Weinrich's. This cake did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious. It was decorated beautifully. All of my guests were raving about it and asked for seconds or a piece to take home. Needless to say, I found our new bakery. Update! We ordered my daughter's first birthday cake and smash cake from Weinrich's! It was absolutely gorgeous and delish too. The decorator sure went out of their way to make this cake special!
