I am writing to express our sincere appreciation for the exceptional dining experience we enjoyed at Teca Newtown Square on February 27, 2024. Our Cabinet and Board members were thoroughly impressed by the quality of service and cuisine provided by your establishment.
From the moment we stepped into the wine cellar, which we had the pleasure of renting for the occasion, the ambiance captivated us and set the stage for an evening of culinary excellence. The attention to detail in creating such a welcoming atmosphere did not go unnoticed.
Our server, Jerry, was truly outstanding. His guidance through the menu, which included a delightful selection of dishes such as flavorful margherita and tartufo pizzas, delightful avocado toast, satisfying Teca wrap, savory roast beef crostini, exquisite smoked salmon, and delectable mini crab cakes, was impeccable. Jerry's genuine care for our dining experience was evident in every interaction, making us feel valued and well taken care of throughout the evening.
I must also commend Claire for her exceptional customer service at the bar. From the moment we approached, her warm smile and welcoming demeanor made us feel right at home. Claire's knowledge of the extensive drink menu and her passion for mixology were evident in every cocktail she crafted. Her attention to detail and commitment to ensuring each guest had a memorable experience truly set her apart.
Throughout the evening, Claire remained attentive and engaging, effortlessly striking the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. Her vibrant personality added an extra layer of enjoyment to our evening, creating a lively atmosphere at the bar that became a focal point of our dining experience.
In addition to the outstanding service, the food at Teca Newtown Square was a true highlight of the evening. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor, exceeding all expectations.
Overall, our experience at Teca Newtown Square was exceptional. From the impeccable service to the delicious food and drinks, every aspect of our evening was superb. We highly recommend Teca Newtown Square to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Newtown Square.

Read moreWent to brunch for Mother's Day with the family. Upon entering, there was a long line of people in the lobby. Not sure why, but had to try and get around them to check in with hostess. Waited 10-15 for our reservation. As we were being taken to our table, we realized the long line through the lobby was for the brunch!
There wasn't really enough room between the brunch tables where the food was, the lines of people trying to get to the food, and the counter with deserts and pastries for us to walk. If someone was coming the other direction, forget it. Definitely not laid out well. Not sure if this was special for Mother's Day, or just really busy for Mother's Day or what.
The food was great though! Didn't have one bad thing on the plate and everyone in our party agreed.
Service was, well - about as poor as can be. Out waitress was very nice, but you could tell they were understaffed for the occasion. Not her fault at all. But there were several tables nearby (With other servers) that were flagging people down and asking if they had a server, or if they could get drinks, etc. Dirty plates were not cleared and getting drinks wasn't happening. Our server knew this and even covered a few drinks on the bill.
Also disappointed that something as simple as orange juice wasn't included with the brunch. Really? For the same price, we usually go to the Radnor Hotel where even the mimosas are included!
Funniest part for us was when my sister pulled up in a manual car. Valet had to chase her down as no one can drive stick, so they needed her to park it.
Teca, if you want to last in Newtown Square, you're going to need to step it up. This is the fourth name change/restaurant in this location in maybe ten years. Hoping this was just a Mother's Day flaw, but if this is the normal brunch, be...
Read moreI recently held a special family event at Teca working closely with Kurt, the GM to create a memorable event. At first I was impressed with their willingness to accommodate my requests and I eventually signed a contract ( with vague details) to to host our party there. Keep in mind, my background is in event planning... 2 weeks out from the event he sent the contract back to me with specifics filled in and made several revisions that ended up costing me more $. When I expressed my concerns, he responded abruptly and with hostility. It was flat out rude. He told me it is what it is and I already signed the contract thus agreeing to the new details. BUT, he only filled in the specifics AFTER I signed and they weren't the specifics I thought we had agreed to! This is deceptive at best! Whether he thought I was in the wrong or not, he handled it poorly. I shouldn't have signed without everything spelled out but I didn't expect them to screw me over! I've never worked with a venue like this before. There are much nicer ways to deal with a customer concern than our interactions. I ended up paying more than I wanted to, but at that point, it was too late to back out without paying in full. He knew exactly what he was doing and after reading others reviews, it looks like they've done this to others as well! The party was fine, and the servers that day were accommodating, but because of the interactions I had with Kurt alone, I will not be holding any other events at this restaurant, nor will I return to dine there. My family members who were regulars there, also now refuse to go there and I've already told many of my colleagues in the event industry to steer clear! ...
