My Place Restaurant — Restaurant in Newtown

We have been to this location a handful of times, and each time was not great but acceptable, however after my recent experience there is no way I will ever go back.

Last Friday we decided at the last minute to go here, and it seems every time we go the owner and her family are having dinner.

You have to see this, there is a round table in the back corner, where they all congregate, and they feast like kings, its quite comical, because they are served before the guests even though you arrived much earlier, and the staff is mainly focussed on this table, you the paying customer comes last at this time of day.

So we placed our order, and my wife ordered the chicken, and I asked for a margarita pizza, but before I ordered it I asked how it was made, and I explained in full detail how I would like it, fresh mozzarella, no basil. Simple right WRONG.

They brought out our meals, and I am looking at what they put out in front of me and this was not what I ordered. They brought out a round piece of dough, with a few slices of tomato, and melted mozzarella. NO SAUCE!!!.

So I tried to get someone's attention, and they were all so focused on the round table, and the feast of kings I was ignored.

I grabbed someone as they walked by, and our waitress decided to come over, and see what was wrong. I told her this was not what I ordered, she had this dear in the headlights look left and went to the kitchen, and then came back with a menu and made the lamest excuse and said " Well I can't blame the guys in the kitchen, because the menu says 'White Pizza" and that is how its made, it was at this point I was ready to fling this garbage in front of me over to the feast of kings, but then I decided to calm down, and I told her take it away, I can't eat this, its disgusting, and she did.

So then my wife says "calm down, and eat some of my chicken, I can't eat all this" so I reluctantly took a taste, and when I tasted it, I looked at my wife and I said "this is good to you" and she didn't respond, I said "this taste like cardboard", she again didn't say anything, I then tried the pasta, and that was edible.

We were both ignored all night after the "pizza" incident, then the waitress finally comes over, and asked if we wanted desert, I had to literally bite my tongue, I laughed and said " No we are done, just the check"

She hands me the check, I said to my wife do you realize they charged us almost $30 for your meal (chicken), she said I thought it was $24, then I saw the rest, and I was even more disgusted.

What disgusted me the most is how the owner just ignored what happened, and continued to feast with her guests.

At the end of the day with tip, (yes I tipped, definitely wasn't deserved) $45.00 Chicken dinner with two cokes.

Before we left as we exited, I grabbed a handful of mints, and my wife said to me "what are you doing" I said "I need something to take this disgusting taste out of my mouth."

This had to be the worst experience I haver expierienced at a restaurant. Never again.

Hopefully the owner will realize after reading this that the customer is the most important person in that room, because it is the customer that makes it possible for you to feast like kings at your...

Definitely NOT “my place”

We were passing through the town from a day trip and decided to stop for lunch.

Summary below and details to follow: -5 minutes to be seated -Waited over 15 minutes for water -Waited over 20 minutes total just to order -Waited another 20 minutes for the food

Waited over 15 minutes just for water as my small child was pleading with us to leave because she was so thirsty she wanted to go back to the car and go somewhere else for water

We were seated outside so I go inside to see what’s going on and I see that other people who came in after us were already being served. So we ask again and tell the busboy we have been waiting to order. He says he will get our waitress

Waitress comes out and says “I heard you’re ready to order”. No greeting. At this point they’re seating more and more people near us and we are beyond frustrated.

To top it all off I couldn’t believe the waitress put down dirty plates in front us with a straight face. My daughter’s plate had crusted food on it. I asked for napkins and had to wait only for her to bring out 2 napkins while 3 of us are sitting there

Needless to say I don’t recommend this place and would never stop here again. I’ve worked in the service industry in the past and this was just unacceptable.

I will give credit to the busboy who was working very hard. Perhaps it is the management of the place that needs serious...

My friend bought us almost $100 in take out. The food trays were smashed and all the sauce was completely drained from the dinners. Order was completely wrong, dishes missing, food almost RAW. It was of such poor quality we attempted a return, made the phone call to do so, and they were so rude my friend ended up having to just throw it out because it wasn’t even worth eating. IT WAS THAT BAD of an experience. It was such a big ordeal the entire house went in an uproar and we aren’t even speaking to each other at the moment. I would recommend not eating at all if you’re thinking about ordering from this “restaurant “. O and the people were so rude over the phone during the order process, they even referred to my male friend as “hunny” and laughed at him and hung up on him. We should have known in that moment to go elsewhere. $100 of food, in the garbage pale, not one bite eaten. Calamari was raw. Chicken Marsala with no sauce. Crushed containers.
