Maria's Bakery — Restaurant in Niles Township

I placed an order for platter of assorted desserts for Christmas. When I went to pick up my order on the 24th there was a young lady in front of me and she was trying to pick up her order. The owner came out screaming and yelling and causing a big scene and front of seven or eight other customers . I was shocked as was everyone else at how the owner treated this girl which later I found out is her daughter-in-law. I left an honest review on Facebook based on the events that occurred. The shop owner reached out to me and try to explain herself, I assumed that that would be the end of it but I started receiving messages from her bakery manager lacrimiria Georgeta Baboi … asking me to take my review off when I told her I wouldn’t,she tried to bribe me by sending me money to donate to the Moldovan family (which this in itself is disgusting). I told her I didn’t have any Ill intent and I didn’t want to bring anybody’s business down I was just giving an honest review of my experience at the bakery. She then started calling me names and being disrespectful. both the owner and the manager could have use this as constructive criticism and improve their customer service yet they decided try to intimidate and Bribe their way into positive reviews. It’s disgusting the tactics she uses to try to convince me to take my review off. She tries to send me money, she tries to use God, and tries to guilt me. It s so hard to find romanian food in USA so I was so happy to find this place! Everything is great, the selection/variety, the products and the people!! Everything was so fresh, you could see the bags steaming and everybody was working hard in the back! Besides sweets and savory salty snacks (mainly) they also have a small variety of cooked food! The people working there were soo nice and chatty! Will be back from Tennessee with any occasion and even just for this place, totally recommend it if you miss home or just if you want to try some homemade...

Went there yesterday to satisfy my nursing wife's craving of bakery. We were feeling adventurous and try this Romanian delicacy. Turns out better than expectation, and also the price is reasonable. Besides the more common Tiramisu, we tried the sweet cheese bread and the custard cake. So delicious! We will be going back, get more of them and also try some other stuffs.
