I hate writing bad reviews but I only write them if I feel strongly about my experience. I’ve been waiting to go here for nearly two years. It would’ve been sooner but with Covid and what not, it got pushed back.
The moment I walked in I realized I might have messed up. $14.50 for 3 steak tacos is ridiculous. Later I realized it was kosher, but still those prices are not acceptable. Despite the price, maybe I found a gem and it’s worth the price (I know places worth $5+ taco) so I still decided to give it a try.
When I got them, I open the foil and they looked decent. Plenty of meat. Salsa looked great. Tortillas were not fried so they retained zero structure when eating. Everything fell apart even with two tortillas. Steak had little to no seasoning and they were tough and overcooked. Salsa tasted good but needed a lot to make up for everything else. The tacos overall, to be brutally honest, were not good. High prices get high expectations and sadly they did not come close to what a $5 taco should taste like. I didn’t hype myself up during the past 2 years, that’s why I didn’t look at any reviews and went in blind.
I understand with dietary restrictions this can be a phenomenal place and I’m happy there’s a place that suits their needs. For someone without dietary restrictions, it’s very, very underwhelming. Service was nice and...
Read morewe went here based on multiple good reviews and were very disappointed
we ordered a lot of food some we ate there and some we got for the next day so got almost every meat
the good - the fish tacos chicken milanesa was decent basic fried chicken cutlet
the ok - carne asade was the best meat
the bad just about everything else the chorizo - flavor was ok but it was extremely oily and was very dry the barbacoa had barely any flavor and was so dry it was almost inedible chicken tinga was flavorless and dry the pastor was dry and chewy
despite asking for toppings there was nothing ( no pico no pickled onions etc.) in any of out burritos
the rice and beans in the burritos was ok but overall everything was super dry the sauces were ok. the chipolte one was ok if you like chipolte, salsa verde had no flavor. salsa habenero had good spice but no other flavor
the portions were decent sized
I had been excited for a good kosher burrito place but was very disappointed. my kids and wife did not want to eat the food. i thought everything was so dry which may have been better if there was pico de gallo in any of the...
Read moreMy wife and I had lunch here, and I have to say, the food is amazing! I had a chicken burrito (al Pastor), and my wife had the bowl (breast). The portions were HUGE. My burrito was easily as big as a football, and my wife had a box stuffed to the brim with rice, beans, lettuce, grilled onions and chicken breast. It was under $25 for lunch (which is a fantastic price for kosher for these portions). The only thing I did not like is they use brown rice for the mexican rice, instead of white rice, so the flavor was not 100% what I was expecting, however the food was excellent. My burrito had great flavors from the salsa (mild) with grilled pineapple and cilantro, giving it a great fresh and sweet taste with just a hint of spice. My wife is not generally a fan of Mexican food, but she enjoyed her meal, and had a lot leftover. I would absolutely eat here again...
