🔹Rating: 5/5 🔹Experience: My first time to this beautiful place. The owner is kind and very accommodating. Best choice of ARABIC SWEETS (Basbousa, Harisa, Knafeh, Halawet El Gebin, and Baklava) in Chicago. The owner himself doing all kinds of Arabic sweets on the real authentic way. The shop offers traditionally selected Syrian dessert such as Halawet El Gebin 👍 which has a big thumbs up. Halawet El Gebin was very light, less sweetened, and has the real texture because he source ingredients from the origin. You must try and visit this place, highly Recommended 👍👍👌👌

I was impressed with how friendly the owner was when I asked him to tell me about the desserts. He took great pride in explaining that they still make the phyllo dough by hand and they import the pistachios from turkey. He explained how everything was priced quite clearly and was happy to let us take our time deciding. We bought several little sweets and all were clearly made expertly with high equality ingredients.

The best all natural ingredients Baklava in Chicago. I have been a customer since I moved to Chicago area 2017. It reminds me of the ones I have in Istanbul and Dubai. The owner is extremely nice and always welcoming me. You can call and place an order and he will have ready on time. Thank you Al Sham Sweets ❤️

It was my first time coming to Al Sham, but not my first time eating baklava. My family is very picky about sweetness and crunch, so I was pleasantly surprised by the rich flavor. Not overpowering in sugar, all pieces I tried were clearly made with care. They were a big hit, and I plan to come back for more in the future!

To those talking about pricing: while I understand where sticker shock may come from, please be aware that making baklava is a labor-intensive, tedious process. One batch can take a full day for layering, baking, and letting it rest. If you want Walmart prices, you will get Walmart quality. If you want high-quality desserts, you have to compensate the baker...

After driving by Al Sham a few times, we made the stop yesterday. Greeted warmly by the couple who created Al Sham, we treated ourselves to the most delicious Middle Eastern pastries that we have ever tried. All is made onsite, including the extraordinary filo dough - delicious, crunchy, never greasy! I was wild about the pistachio baklava, and another beautiful pastry (sorry to have forgotten the name!) with a wonderful pistachio dough!!! We also had walnut baklavas - amazing!!!!

The quality of the pastries is equalled by the wonderfully warm and enthusiastic reception.Don't let the shop's modest appearance fool you - the goods being sold are among the best you will ever have...

I sent my daughter to buy sweet for our guest. She bought one ready to go dessert and the owner asked her if she wants to try with other flavor too. My daughter tought that he will give her a sample of that to taste it. But he charged her the other ready to go dessert which was already stale! So, she got charged for both. We got new flavor which was recommended by the owner was stale. This was not the first time happened. He sells stale products. We live very close to there and his products are selling in Sinbad Grocery Store too. They are all stale. They should keep product made date and time and used by date and time. We will not go there any more to spend money for...
