Updating in response to Kayla Branscum’s review: I’m unsure if this is the manager on duty, general manager or one of the other ladies involved. However, I was sure I heard the Name Kim when the incident occurred, and I was sure that was the rude “manager “ . If it was in fact Kayla who was the manager, she deserved to be fired and I do not apologize for my review. If one of the other ladies were fired, that is a shame. Either way my review stands and myself as well as a good number of my colleagues who attended a party there will not be returning. What an embarrassment to the Big Whiskey Franchise.
I want to share my recent experience at this establishment. On the evening of Wednesday January 31st I witnessed the most unprofessional and appalling behavior from supposed management. There was what appeared to be an employee who was off the clock sitting with another individual at the bar. The individual had ordered wings I believe. There was hair found to be cooked into the food and the off the clock employee was trying to help address the situation. 2 of the servers who were working came out followed by a very rude and unprofessional lady who I believe they called Kim. She was very harsh with the servers and the off duty employee who seemed to be in a good and happy demeaner prior to this incident. If this is how management is going to behave and treat their staff, my family and I will no longer be investing in this establishment. I was originally introduced to this establishment during an event that I attended with a few colleagues. What an embarrassment, to have people who are supposed to be professional and manage a pleasant environment, who are crude and condescending to other staff members. I do wish the best to the servers on duty and the other employee who was not on duty but still willing to help diffuse the situation. To the General Manager of this establishment, I highly recommend reevaluating who you have running your business, because the one they called Kim, is certainly not...
Read moreSo I had never been to the big whiskey's in nixa. My first experience was awful.we were a party of 4 showed up at 10 and they close at 11. my partner and I had shared 12 wings and a side of fries. One guest had fried pickles and the other shrimp tacos. Only two of us were drinking alcohol and we had two drinks each. After the food was brought out we asked for the check just so we could take care of it right away and whenever we were ready to leave we could just go so my partner makes a joke about oh are you trying to get rid of us and the server just stopped stared at him for a good three four seconds and then proceeded to say oh well we close at 11:00. Which in my opinion is very rude it was only 10:30 at that point and the doors are open till 11:00. After she ran our card. She comes out and sets the book back down we said thank you . And the server doesn't say thank you or even acknowledge that we said it. Just walks back inside and aggressively locks the door. We are still on their patio. I had never been there I did not know around the corner you could exit their patio. And at this point it's not even 11. Why this server locked us out is beyond me. The best part is right as the clock struck 11 the gm unlocked the door and came out side to start picking up drink menus from the other tables and doesnt thank us or ask if the food was good he doesn't even so much as acknowledge us. I started to feel like oh my gosh it must be well after 11:00 and they're probably pretty mad huh so I checked the time it was 11:01 very very disappointed we didn't take up much of their time and they treated us like we were a burden and for that GM to come out and not even thank us or anything I have zero respect for anyone in a position of authority that doesn't lead by example to their other employees we won't...
Read moreIt's a new location; and they definitely need time to get up to speed! We had drinks and dinner on Jan 4, 2019. The only thing served that was good was the whiskey.
All of the food was served cold; fried pickles are not good cold. Neither are the sweet potato fries; but they were made worse by the "over-seasoning" of something resembling SeasonAll; so bad we had to send them back and we were trying hard to remember it's a new opening location; and to give them a break.
Boom Boom Shrimp; besides being cold, were served on about 12 shreds of old-looking lettuce (supposed to be a bed of lettuce). Shrimp when they've been breaded and sauced are not very good cold; couldn't finish them. Even though only about half were eaten; no one asked if there was a problem. The only time we saw mgmt was at the front desk while waiting 30 minutes for a table; then we were seated at a table in the bar.
Burgers weren't bad; but still, not piping hot / fresh from the grill. It was difficult to tell what the problem was. Kitchen for sure on seasoning; but why everything was cold could have been lack of quick service or poor holding area.
They had plenty of Servers who were polite and working hard. Some were under-trained and couldn't answer simple questions without finding a Mentor / Leader; but were trying.
My advise is to not go here for food just yet. Just drinking. Speaking of which; there were several "over-served" customers screaming / cavorting / etc. in the bar area, so much so, that you couldn't help but be annoyed by them. Not the best place for seating "dinner" guests.
Bottom line: Don't bother spending your time and money here until they get the training of employees done, have consistent quality coming out of the kitchen, and they can keep-up with the busy-ness that happens with any...
