Ordered sesame chicken, smelled like teriyaki, tasted like teriyaki. Tried putting it down but it's just not what I ordered. called and asked and they told me to bring it back through. basically told me that was honey sesame chicken and asked if I wanted sugar. Basically told them it was garbage eitherway. Left it in front of the door since there was no garbage cans around and the lobby was closed. Would've rather made a mess with it seeing as I wasted 14 and don't get lunch and might've gotten some entertainment out of me losing money. Either way, trying a new place was a terrible idea. 0 stars, I will never be back here. The Shanghai buffet down the street is much better even though they will short change you any chance you give them (run your card!)
Unless your special blend is teriyaki with sugar I'm pretty sure they just forgot the sugar. I have never ate anywhere that decided to call teriyaki sauce on chicken sesame chicken. Plain as day was not what I ordered. Offering sugar is not how you fix adding the wrong flavoring to a dish. This generic half of a response is not how to fix it either. Customer service is non existent here. Doesn't take much to say oh wow I can smell the teriyaki from here one of our cooks must have used the WRONG BOTTLE, LET ME HAVE THAT REMADE FOR YOU with the right ingredients. You know normal customer service....
Read moreI not sure what has happened to this place in the last year, but it's definitely gone down hill within the last year, more so in the last 6 months. This has been our favorite Chinese place to get general chicken for at least 10 years, and we used to go on a regular basis, but I think it will be a while before we try it again. The general had a unique flavor apart from everyone elses general. It was sweet, a little too salty and spicy, but oh so good. We ordered last night and the chicken was way over done and dry and didn't include any general sauce in our containers. I was really upset about that, because we usually love the sauce. The cabbage was completely un cooked with no sauce (usually slightly cooked and soaked in sauce), and the rice was very under cooked and still hard. There was also NO spice to it what so ever. It was almost bland which is usually not the case at all. I used to love their Crab ragoons, but now they taste just as any other restaurant. The sweet & sour appeared pretty much the same except the overcooked dry chicken. I can't say anything about the other foods as we always get general and sweet and sour, but I can imagine it's that way across the board. It has also gotten waay over priced for the quality. I didn't mind paying more for it, because we loved it, but now I'd rather go to nasty Panda Express and...
Read moreI eat here once a week on average, and I didn't realize how good I had it until I went across the street to 5 Spice on the day Cashew Inn is closed (Sundays). Cashew Inn knows how to make cashew chicken. They cook their chicken the right way, they bread it the right way, and they make their sauce the right way. 5Spice doesn't even come close. Their food tastes amateurish compared to the chefs at Cashew Inn. So glad they're around, because Nixa is sadly lacking in quality Chinese food. The other places just don't compare. The others underperform every time I visit them, and I'm always disappointed by something in the food. I've never been disappointed with Cashew Inn's food though. Their crab rangoons are incredible, and their cashew chicken is perfect. I don't trust a Chinese restaurant that can't make Springfield Cashew Chicken the right way. Such a simple dish can be made so poorly, as I've just learned from 5 Spice, causing me to appreciate what Cashew Inn does that much more.
Seriously, go here and you won't be disappointed. I'm not sure why some of the earlier reviews say the food is pricey, because that's been my exact opposite experience. Cheap food, great tastes, quick service, big...
