My wife and I thought we'd give this place a try back in November it was literally the single worst food experience in my life. I'm giving this review now because I was looking for something else unrelated and this place showed up as part of my search and I was reminded how much of a disappointment it was...even nearly 6 months later. We ordered the pumpkin cheesecake and there were some things wrong with it. 1. It didn't taste like anything you'd expect. It tasted like someone beat cream cheese in a mixer with the smallest amount of sugar possible and called it done. No pumpkin-ish flavor, no spice flavor, just barely sweet cream cheese. 2. How it looked when we got it and on the website is kind misleading. The pattern you see In the actual picture is literally only at the surface, which would be fine if it actually tasted good, meaning it doesn't even look nice when you cut it. 3. The crust... oh boy the crust. They use PIE CRUST for a cheesecake instead of a graham cracker crust. I'm about 90% certain it wasn't even par-baked because it was VERY moist and kinda gross. There is zero indication on their website you order through that you getting a pie crust. I'm aware there are shortbread crusts and more of a pastry crust, they both still pie crusts and a much worse choice then a graham cracker crust. For those who don't know, a graham cracker crust is just the smashed crackers, butter and sugar... it is incredibly easy to make. I'm going to guess that they a pie crust because they already have it on hand and are being either lazy or just incompetent. This cheesecake of a pure disappointment was about $41. You could instead go to Walmart, buy a trash pre-made crust and trash pre-made no bake cheesecake filling for a total under $10 and have a better cheesecake.

This bakery is always great. Back in July we ordered the standard-ish double chocolate for a birthday and it is wonderfully fudgy. We froze half of it and have been still slowly going through it and it's just... it's so good. It was also no issue to request a birthday message on top. I've gotten cakes from here for the last three years and they've been consistently fantastic.

Reading the other reviews about what “Great Pies” customers received Leads me to think something must have went wrong with our order. We ordered three pies for Christmas. A coconut cream, banana cream, and a apple pie. The coconut cream was absolutely TERRIBLE. It’s my favorite pie in the whole world and it was the worst I’ve ever had by far. Bland and tasteless. Ate one piece and In the trash it went. The banana cream was only slightly better. And the one that had anything at all good about it was the apple pie. If my entire family could’ve shared the apple pie we all would have but some of us went without dessert Christmas Eve. The other experience we’ve had here was we got a cheesecake in August and it was really really good, ONLY reason for the 2nd star. We were super excited to try their pies for the holidays and were really let down with how...

This was my first visit to the Pie Box. I had intended to pick up some cupcakes or something for guests that do not like the strawberry pie I ordered. The Pie Box is an order only bakery and little to no product to shop for while in store. I picked up the strawberry pie early on a cool morning – drove straight home from the Nixa location to Springfield, about a 15 minute drive. I noticed the pie was not set and assumed that it would set overnight before serving . The pie never set and served like a soup rather than a pie. Everyone thought it had a good taste and the fruit was fresh. It was disappointing that the pie never set. I doubt I...
