Añejo Cocina Mexicana – Nocatee

Overall, an okay experience. The complimentary chips and salsa were appreciated (as is customary at many sit-down Mexican restaurants), but the chips tasted commercial and lacked freshness.

The burrito was massive—easily filled the entire plate. The person who ordered it only made it through about a third and said it was “just okay.” My enchiladas were decent, though a bit dry, but they were filling. The guacamole on the side was likely the best part of my meal. One person in our group ordered the trio of tacos and said it was the best dish at the table—the tacos looked great.

Happy hour specials were underwhelming: $2 off draft beer and house margaritas. When we asked if there were any other specials, our server didn’t mention any. My margarita was so sweet I ended up diluting it with water.

The real highlight was the service. Our server was friendly, efficient, and personable. Every staff member we interacted with was polite and professional. The restaurant was clean, lively, and clearly popular with locals. It was busy with large groups, and we loved the dedicated parking for community golf carts—definitely a nice neighborhood touch.

Worth checking out, but with some room for improvement on the food...

Let me start by saying the manager on staff Brian was very courteous and helpful. I’ve catered our office lunch for approximately 40 people in the past working with Gabriel and everything went great. You have raised your prices which is fine, I get it, and admittedly I only called in the order a day in advance. The bigger issue was that the food was completely over packed in flimsy trays resulting in hot chicken and beef grease and fried beans sloshing and spilling literally all over myself and my car. Our office is only a quarter mile from your restaurant. Another thing worth mentioning and you’d think this was a good thing but WAY too much food was sent- double the chicken, beef and beans this time as well as a ridiculous amount of sour cream. If you’re trying to manage costs this should be addressed, everyone hates when there’s not enough food but the amount sent was very wasteful, with every tray filled to the brim. Again, Brian was great, I don’t want this to reflect on him but please do better. I love supporting local business and the quality of the food is great. I’d also appreciate being reimbursed for the mess in my car the photos don’t do justice to the...

I would appreciate it if a manager could reach out to me to discuss a recent disappointing experience at your restaurant.

My 25-year-old daughter and two of her friends visited your location for a dinner and reunion, and unfortunately, their experience fell far short of expectations. They waited 40 minutes for their drinks, which arrived melted with no ice. Two of the meals were the wrong order, and when the correct meals were finally brought out, they were cold. To make matters worse, they were not provided with silverware or napkins, and their waters were never refilled. The service was rude and dismissive, with no apology offered for any of the mistakes or delays.

I can’t help but feel that my daughter and her friends were treated this way because of their age. I am confident this would not have happened if my husband and I had been there. They spent a considerable amount of money, including the cost of an Uber ride to and from the restaurant, only to leave feeling disrespected.

While I understand that the restaurant may have been busy, that does not excuse the lack of basic customer service, courtesy, or...
