We walked in at 1036 pm and being a Saturday night, it is open until 11. We walked down to the ice cream and waited for someone to come, but the workers kept cleaning. It wasn't until I made eye contact with the girl did she ask from across the store how can I help up? I gave her my order and then she asked my husband what he wanted and when he said sweet cream and brownie, without looking up, she said "we're done with brownies for the night" my husband at this point walks out so I ask what does that mean and she said well we closing and cleaned the fridge with the brownies and once I do that I'm not allowed to open it, I tell her it's 1040 pm, you're open till 11, so shouldn't you be able to take any order to which she says this is how we do it and we close in segments so I tell her again you're open till 11 and she then starts to say, we have minors working and they can't work past 11 and the other person can't be here by themselves. Summer was incredibly discriminatory, arrogant, and loud when I tried to explain a grievance from my transaction the day prior. - I was told the day before there wasn’t butter pecan ice cream in the store so my daughter and I left, however when we got to the car we realized we’d get a different flavor instead, an Oreo like it sized cup. When we walked back into the store mins later, we witnessed the butter pecan ice cream being sold to a family. This made no sense and I immediately was confused and followed up with further queries. I went into the store today to discuss this with the manager on duty, which was Summer and she was completely inconsiderate of the entire situation. In fact she said the ice cream was expired, which was still in the cooler being sold today, but somehow could t explain why there wasn’t a consistent sale of this product. My family and I are visiting this beautiful area of St. Augustine for the first time and have had nothing but wonderful experiences, until we entered this store and witnessed a staff person (I am unsure of her name) working in the store without any assistance. When my family and I walked in we noted five other customers ahead of us that had not been waited on. One customer even encouraged her to take care of a pickup order ahead of them since she was working by herself. She thanked the customer and continued working as quickly as she could. One of my family members became upset at the fact that there was no one available to assist this worker and walked out of the store. The rest of us followed as we all wanted to eat ice cream together and unfortunately ended up at a different establishment. Please consider making sure that the store is properly staffed.
