Oscar's West Coast Tacos!
Amendment: Reallllllly wish they'd consider more eco-friendly takeout containers. So few businesses here still use styrofoam, I was shocked when I got home and opened the bag. Will severely limit my takeout from them in the future. That being said...
I love Mexican food - authentic, Americanized, Tex-Mex - and now California style! Oscar's is my FAVORITE place to grab a quick bite. Their menu is extensive for Fast Casual dining: tacos, burritos, nachos, salads, rolled tacos, enchiladas, etc.
And while Oscar is happy to add cheese to anything you want, don't expect it to come automatically. This is California style, so expect great guacamole instead. And their tacos are heavily loaded with great meat from chicken to pork to shrimp to fried fish, to carnitas, and it's all delicious!
They serve Pepsi products and various flavored teas, and they also carry authentic Mexican Coca-Cola in their cooler.
They have great little dine-in locations all over Nashville, but I'm partial to the one down in Nolensville. It's standard strip mall parking, but there's plenty of it and plenty of seating inside including a sunroom to the side where you can spread out and get away from people. There are a couple of outside tables as well.
As good as the food is, and it's terrific, the service is just as great. Even the teenage servers are trained to pay attention and be friendly and helpful.
If I had to give you a complaint it's that the salsas are too thin. Still, the flavors are very good.
This is an outstanding choice for people with allergies of all kinds. They have crispy corn taco shells as well as soft corn shells if you are gluten sensitive. Dairy doesn't come automatically on the tacos and their guac is so great you'll never miss it. We have visited several times and they are always happy to accommodate our weird food allergies and, so far, have never made a mistake.

Read moreI called in at 1030am for a pickup order of chips and salsa and 2 quesadillas. I thought calling in before the lunch rush was a good idea, which it was because when I arrived there was only ONE customer eating. I got there 1045am like the girl had stated would take 15 minutes, which was fine. I paid for my food and then I sat down. The girl went back to filling her cups of sauce and continued to talk to the other customer while he was eating. 20 minutes later the cook comes out and I assume he has the counter girl what I was waiting for be one looked back at forth to me to her. She then noticed I was sitting there and picked up a bag on the counter that I had saw when I came up to pay. Ridiculous. She didn't even apologize.
When I got back home I went to eat my quesadilla and it smelled off....basically rancid. I ended up wasting my time and money on food I could not eat. I will NEVER come back to this...
Read moreI have just one complaint and it’s big—someone is cleaning the deep fat fryer with a soapy cleanser (Fabuloso??) and not getting it all out, so when I order the taco salad, the entire tortilla tastes of soap. It really bad. This has been going on for years. Everything else is great—no problem. But the taste of Fabuloso when you’re trying to eat a taco salad is honestly just horrible. We place a to-go order maybe twice a year now and this problem never gets better—usually I end up forgetting which is why I then order it again. We’ve switched to ordering from the Smyrna location instead, which sucks bc that’s a much longer drive. But no issue with soapy flavor at that location. Genuinely, I don’t know why no one else has noticed this or done something about it. It’s crazy. You...
