I went to Benny’s on January 16 at about 6:30 PM. I ordered my pizza online and was told that it would be ready by 6:25. I showed up at 6:35. When I asked about the pizza I was told that there was no pizza and that it would be an hour wait. I told the staff that that is why I ordered it online so I could come at the appropriate time to pick it up. I was then told by the staff member that I was being rude and that I should wait like everybody else.
I thought that was unacceptable so I asked for my money back and that I did not want to wait. A lady came from the back at this point to help the gentleman and try to get me my money back. The gentleman said I should not be able to get my money back but that I should wait like everybody else. That is horrible customer service. First, I was at the place when I was told to arrive to pick up the pizza. Second if a customer ask for their money back when the service is not delivered as advertised, the customer should be able to get their money back.
At this point the gentleman interrupted the lady who is trying to help me to get my money back and then he said let’s call the cops and get him removed from here if he doesn’t leave right now. That was incredible I could not believe that. I asked him to go ahead and call the cops because I was trying to get my money back. The young lady said it would be 2 to 3 days before I can get the money back on my card. I said how do I know that I’ll get my money back. And the gentleman repeated once again call the cops and have him removed. I said once again I’d love to talk to the cops because I don’t know if you’re going to give me my money back.
This was the worst customer service I have ever had of the Benny’s plus the worst customer service I think I’ve ever had at any restaurant. Do not go to this restaurant because there are other people on the reviews here that are also saying they received horrible service. Benny’s hire good help fire the ones that don’t know what...
Read moreWe were enjoying our day exploring beautiful downtown Norfolk on our recent trip to the Virginia Beach area and knew we wanted to try a pizza spot. We chose this place based on the reviews. The inside is pretty small and seating was limited which was appreciated since it’s during COVID-19, but luckily most people were grabbing slices to go. The outside seats were full so we went ahead and chose an available table inside.
The woman behind the counter was hard at work placing some of the largest pizzas I’ve ever seen into the oven. The slices are huge! They keep the menu very simple with just a few different options so it’s easy to figure out what you want and place your order. My boyfriend ordered a slice of plain cheese and I decided to try the monthly special which was bacon mac and cheese pizza (calories don’t count on vacation, right?) After a short wait our slices were fresh out of the oven and ready to enjoy! It takes two paper plates to hold these slices.
We sat down and dug in, and I have to say this is one of the best thinner crust style pizzas I’ve had. I’ve found a lot of pizza I enjoy in the Orlando area over my years of living there, but there was just something special about this pizza. The crust was perfect, the cheese had a great flavor, and the bacon mac and cheese topping was delicious. My boyfriend was equally impressed. The pizza is a little light on sauce (I often order extra sauce from spots at home), but the amount on there worked fine with this slice. I could barely finish my slice, but managed because it was just so darn delicious.
This was our first time visiting this area and I’m sure there are lots of great pizza spots in town, but I know when I have the opportunity to visit Norfolk again I’ll be hitting up this place for a...
Read moreWalked in place is empty, one worker up front face timing with someone and listening to music on his phone. Worker didn't start making my pizza till 10 minutes after I came in. Nobody else was in shop before me. He only started making my slice when other people came in and ordered. Then he finally realized he didn't have sausage once he finally started putting pizza in the oven. Also overheard him talking to customers on phone saying he couldn't make a whole pie because the thing to take it out of oven was broken. When he finally told me they didn't have sausage he offered pepperoni but I'd wasted enough time by then and asked for a refund and to leave. Then he said he didn't know how to do a refund. Couldn't open the cash drawer. He had no problem opening it when I gave him my money at first. He said he'd been working here 4 months. Doesn't know how to do a refund in all that time. Also he nearly forgot to change his gloves between touching raw ingredients and finished pizza until the other customer warned him to do it. He said he called his manager to come. I said ask the manager how to open the cash drawer. He didn't talk to anyone on the phone so I asked him why. He texted apparently (group chat he said). Wasted so much time here horrible service. Manager ( said his name was Pasquale) finally came relatively quickly maybe 20 min- good for him. He opened cash drawer and gave me refund and listened to my complaints. Neither employee nor manager would give me the employee's name. Manager gave me a card with owner's contact info- tried calling and got a full voicemail box. Not impressed with this place, but to be fair I didn't even get to try the pizza since the service...
