In Short: Lots of Frozen, Fried, and Reheated food. If you like Chains like Chilis, Pizza Hut, etc. This place will be fine for you. Full Description: Inside: Currently eating in the restaurant. The inside is kinda scary. Lights are dim, floor has obviously not been refurbished since whatever restaurant was here before, you can tell by the welded spots on the floor. The roof has black mold and other water damage. I can't get over how distressing the interior is. Service: I've read previous reviews on the manager, and I just met him. He's an alright guy but English is definitely not his first language, and if he's rude over the phone or no you gotta give the guy a little slack. The Waitress is a real sweetheart. My previous time I ordered, was a Special Pizza with a 2 liter of Pepsi and a slice of cheesecake. I did not receive the Pepsi, but I did like the Pizza, the crust was crisp and a little chewy, which is how I like it. I've had pizza from New England to Texas and theirs isn't the greatest but its certainly not the worst. The cheesecake I believe is made off sight or ordered in and is not made in the restaurant. If I'm wrong management can get ahold of me and I'll change my review on this part. My order today is a Vegetarian Pizza with Ground beef as an additional topping with a side of Jalepeno Poppers. (I like the extra vegetables and its cheaper to order the Veg pizza and add one meat than the special pizza and add 2 or 3 more veggies.) The Jalepeno Poppers are also frozen and not made on sight. You can normally tell by the taste of the Jalepenos. Frozen and Pickled Jalepenos are nowhere near as firm and pack the heat of a fresh one, along with the fact that you can't make a clean bite with frozen ones. All in all its a pizza place, I'm not expecting the Texas de Brazil or Gordan Ramaey style food, and if you like Chili's, Applebee's, and other chain style food, this place will taste just fine to you as well.
Suggestion to the restaurant. Replace the ceiling tiles with fresh new ones. New Lighting or bulbs at the least, figure out where the moldy smell is coming from (probably the ceiling) Get the wires from the TV and have them put professionally inside the wall. I don't know what you can do about the floor welds but I would eventually refurbish the floors. Lastly I would update your decor, the pictures look like they were stolen from a hotel room, the seats go from Pine Green to Seafoam Blue. I won't lie this place would be pretty baller with a few arcade games like Galaga or something.
Give your waitress a raise she's awesome. Obviously cause of COVID this is stuff you probably won't be able to do for a hot minute but is definitely something...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOK y'all, If I could give Paradise Pizzeria a 10 star I would. This place is awesome. You gotta go check it out. They have great food. Actually they have the best chicken alfredo in these parts. Better than Chili's, Cheddar's, the Olive Garden....Way up there. So good. The bread that comes with it is awesome. It could use having some butter set on the table for the bread though for those at the table that do not do the pasta. But, we stopped by again today & it was even better today than it was the first time we visited. Now that is a restaurant that gets written down in my favorits places to eat in Virginia!!! The owner is super sweet & his wife is awesome. They are usually at the restaurant working. Great cooks. Good food choices for the kiddos. My little one year old today was fussing over the last piece of pizza. She's ONE. In case you missed my last review, here are some more pictures of today's visit. And when you go, you have got to try their brownies & their zamboli deserts. Amazing, not overly sweet but just right. I hope I named the little donut like dish right. But it is awesome!! Anyone in Norfolk, Va. or Chesapeake, you gotta stop by there & try them out. Tell them Tami sent you from Google Reviews. So that they can see that reviews do matter & do make a difference in business. Go help their business out folks. It is a family owned establishment & they work very hard & prepare great food. Too many of our small family owned businesses are suffering still since Covid started a couple of years ago. Many did not survive but, this place adapted & is still here. They deliver, do window pickup & dine in. I have not ordered anything to this date that was not great. They serve many sodas by the 20 ounce bottle & tea by the glass. The tea is just right. Reminds me of Texas tea. And people, in Texas, we know how to make good tea. Take your family & go enjoy yourself some really great food in a nice clean, family friendly restaurant. I loved that today they had cartoons playing on the tv which helped with my kids while we enjoyed our lunch.
Thanks Paradise Pizzeria for another exceptional lunch. We'll be back & hopefully with a crowd. :) 10...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHello, I am Chef Mike and I made the mistake of ordering from this establishment this past Friday. Me and my wife had gotten home from my Oncology Doctors appointment , I have liver cancer and diabetes and just ate a couple burgers from another restaurant when a lady that lives in the house we live in said she was going to order spaghetti from Paradise and asked if we wanted an order so we said yes since i had to eat and get a insulin shot in a few hours before bed.we placed an order for 3 spaghetti dinners 2 of the included meatballs. Shortly after it arrived the Lady that lives with us said hers was terrible ..... I took my insulin shot and began to eat my spaghetti and so did my wife. I was appalled when I tried mine, being a chef for 34 years I could immediately notice that they has sold us just noodles covered in plain tomato sauce and they were trying to pawn this off for spaghetti and my wife's dinner was the same. I called the store back and asked them for my money back since they had sold me tomato sauce instead of spaghetti sauce. Then owner got on the phone with me when I called and said in a garbled attempt at English, you no get money back. I explained to him that I am a local published chef and that what he is trying to pass of for spaghetti and it was garbage. Then one of them asked why i waited to eat it and I explained I was a diabetic and could only eat at certain times when I take my shot ....he replied "thats not my fault". then I got another smart comment from them"well if your a Chef then whey dont you cook your own food" I explained that I had been at the Oncologist all day and was too tired to fix anything, cancer beats you down......Then the guy said eat what you have then..... you no get your money back...... I am letting all my Chef friends and the people that I know that Paradise Family Pizza Restaurant is a rip off run by some extremely rude out...
