I went here yesterday, on a Thursday, during lunch. There were 7 of us including a child and someone in a wheelchair. This is a place we’ve gone to for many years, since before it changed ownership. So after my grandfather had court today for attempted murder on him by someone who I won’t even go in detail with but it’s beyond messed up, which happened one month after his wife/my grandmother/mother passed away and it went well, we thought we would have a lunch at a place we’ve always liked and gone to. You don’t know what someone’s going through. You shouldn’t have to remind someone working in service this. When we first stepped foot in the door, I was met with two dirty looks by the women working the front and asked how many, to which they responded with “did you call?” No. I hadn’t. And they weren’t very busy. It appeared most were getting ready to leave, one couple was actually. And there was more seating in the back. It wasn’t my idea and I wasn’t paying, so I was waiting for the rest of my family and we had to wait for the people leaving to push my brother in a wheelchair by. The staff seemed irritated and unsure why we were waiting, got rude and sharp with us. We were seated and as we walked back the woman in the black shirt kept talking about how tired she was, how she resented how she had to work so many jobs, all while doing so loudly and glaring at us. We were seated and I learned they were saving the table for tomorrow but would seat us today. Would you really be ok with your staff almost sending people away due to a party coming THE NEXT DAY? Anyway so we even tried small talk since my uncle used to work there a long time ago. Nope. Rude, walked away, sharp and cold attitude. We order and get our food and it seemed they calmed down. Well now I think I know why! 2 of my family members got sick last night and I just found out. The bottled orange juice tasted so bad as well. I didn’t put that on y’all so much because I figured it was bottled but now I wonder? Was our food purposely tampered with?! Because we had 7 people? I only ordered fries and scrambled eggs too because I have such limited diet restrictions. I got my eggs last, kinda late and I thought they had forgot but at that point I was prepared to just say take it off the bill before they brought it to me. It tasted off too and I only ate half. I have lots of gut issues, including very slow digestion. Do better and maybe rethink hiring people with attitudes. Right off the bat is disgraceful. And what’s up with the restrooms? Be prepared you may not have one to use if you go here. Also park carefully there’s a huge hole in the tiny...
Read moreThis small, local restaurant has a charming mom-and-pop vibe and offers a nice spot for a quick breakfast. However, my experience was mixed. Upon entering, there was no clear greeting or indication of whether to wait to be seated or pick a table, which was a bit confusing since the restaurant was empty at the time.
Once I was seated, the waitress handed me a menu and took my drink order, but her demeanor lacked warmth. It felt more like a transactional encounter than a welcoming experience.
On the positive side, the restaurant was clean, and it was clear that locals frequent this spot, as they seemed to know exactly what they wanted. My food arrived hot and was delicious, particularly the omelet, which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Unfortunately, the coffee was just average, not particularly memorable.
What stood out most, though, was the lack of attentiveness. After bringing my food, the waitress didn’t check in again until she dropped off the check, which felt like a subtle nudge to leave. While the food was decent, the service left much to be desired.
Overall, it’s a decent spot for a quick meal, but the service needs improvement to match the potential of this local gem. I might return if I’m in the area and need something fast, but I’d also consider other options if the service experience...
Read moreI was really looking forward to eating here, based on the reviews I was reading… but it left a poor taste. Had the thinnest ribeye I’ve ever seen and it was undercooked. I tried to give it a chance because I know a lot of people enjoy a medium-rare ribeye, but I just couldn’t… it was gross. Once I mentioned something, they just slapped the same piece back on the grill after it had already been sitting out on the plate. Rest of the food came out like 5 min after the steak. Mimosa was meh.. Biscuit and eggs were the only things I actually enjoyed. Maybe the server wasn’t having the best day but I think she could’ve been more suggestive or helpful (only checked on me once and close to when I was almost done eating). If you do visit Terrie’s, maybe try something else from the menu besides the ribeye… Personally, I don’t think I’ll ever come back. Too many other local options.
(Ps. Positive reviews are clearly pushed by staff and friends. I don’t do poor reviews unless...
