My husband and I love trying new breakfast spots especially since it's our only time to be kids free. So this was one we looked up and decided to try. The place wasn't too busy as there was a full booth and a table full of ppl there besides us. The location is a bit hidden behind some other places but we managed to find it ok. The parking lot is a tad small but outside of what I can assume was the staff cars and the customers there we didnt have a problem finding a space. The staff was very friendly not too talkative but kind of the perfect amount of chit chat. I will say thou when it came to service we waited more than average time we've spent other places waiting for our food it wasn't too much of an inconvenience but it was noticeable. The food itself was ok nothing too special and the price was fitting I think we spent about 20-25.00 in total for the 2 of us but again the food was ok. The pancakes we ordered were a bit tough and the eggs needed some seasoning. My husband managed to finish his omelet and some of his pancakes but didn't finish the rest and I took portions of my food home but in the end pitched them. I wouldn't say it's of the places we've tried (Hyvee, Pancake house, Fort Jesse, etc.) up there. It's a nice little place but for us the food and service could be a...
Read moreOver priced for the quality of the food. I ordered the stuffed French toast and it was literally a cream cheese sandwich with pecans thrown on top no powdered sugar or anything, just dry. That by its self was $7.63 and it wasn't even quality bread it was 2 slices of white bread you get from the store with 2 inches of regular cream cheese in the middle not cream cheese with sugar or vanilla to jazz it up a bit, just straight cream cheese. The side of sausage patties I ordered were an additional $2.36 and they were burned and dry. And the side of hash browns that were also $2.36 were cold in some places and fried into a combination of hashbrowns and chips. So I ended up spending nearly 20 dollars for a meal that shouldn't have been more than $8. This was my first and last time eating here. It was awful. The waitress was really nice. Too bad the food was...
Read moreI do not live in or around the bloomington area but was here for the weekend. This looked like a good mom and pop little restaurant. Qell I cannot say it 2as the best I have had. I got to the restaurant to pick up my food and it was sitting on a table not by a warmer but in the to go containers on a table. I get to my hotel and it is cold. The French toast is nothing like described by the restaurant. No powered sugar and they only give you 1 little container of syrup for 4 big pieces of French toast. Pretty disappointing especially when all you hear is how wonderful the service is in the Midwest, well that was disappointing as well. It comes with juice and I ask to substitute with hot chocolate and they tell me no. Would not suggest this particular restaurant to anyone, especially if you are visiting from...
