We live in Norman but had never visited Amy’s before. Easy parking in an unassuming strip mall. This is a gem you don’t want to miss. The bread was fantastic, go easy or you won’t be able to eat your entrees ! My husband had the ….well the seafood dish with the pink sauce and it had TENDER calamari in it which is unheard of, it’s a special cook to get that right and they nailed it. The seafood part was generous and had mussels around the edge of the dish and the presentation was good. It really COULD be on white tablecloths, but we had generous portions for a very fair price. I had the ribeye with Marsala (without the onions) and the ribeye was cooked perfectly and was very tender . I think it was very reasonably priced for a steak , again generous portion of veggies too. You can have “seasonal vegetables” as a side and they were yummy and a generous amount. They no longer have baked potatoes but we didn’t miss it. Our server April was kind and efficient and just the right amount of attention….we didn’t feel rushed. I initially gave it 4 stars on the food only because a couple of the mussels were a little fishy, and the Marsala gravy was a bit too salty. Well no, I’ll change it to 5 stars bc honestly there was a ton of seafood in this dish and I can imagine what it’s like to keep fresh mussels and seafood in the kitchen for this price. Thank you owners!
Please come visit this place it is wonderful. We will be back! And order the steak, you won’t be disappointed!
They had balsamic and olive oil for the bread and she gave us an extra bread. There are a TON of touches here that make it a great value. Oh and you can get spaghetti with marinara as a SIDE dish? That was a whole mini meal in itself ….i had to take most of it home because of that BREAD y’all. Come hungry and you will not be disappointed!
Oh and this is small but we came early on Sunday (before noon) and they seated us in booths but made sure to seat every other booth (until it got too full). This is a minor detail but it’s nice to be spaced out like that it felt more cozy , not like they were cramming every party into one section if that...
Read moreWe had high hopes for Amy’s Italian Restaurant, but it was a huge disappointment. We ordered our meal to go, and not only were the portions ridiculously small for the price, but the flavors were completely off—everything tasted like generic pizza, even though we didn’t order pizza.
The biggest letdown was the lasagna, which was the whole reason I wanted to eat here. The menu advertised a layer of beef and meat sauce, but there was absolutely no meat in this dish at all—no beef, no meat sauce, nothing. It was completely bland and flavorless, and honestly, I’ve had better Italian food from a Stouffer’s microwave meal.
To make matters worse, the packaging was a disaster. The containers leaked oil and spaghetti sauce all over the inside of the bag, which then soaked through onto my car seat. Clearly, they knew this was an issue because they put a paper plate between each item, but that did nothing to stop the mess.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, my husband’s meal was completely inedible. As he opened the container, the plastic lid broke into shards, and since the food was hot, we couldn’t find the plastic pieces—they must have melted into the dish. Not wanting to risk eating melted plastic, he had to throw his meal away entirely.
Between the misleading menu, underwhelming food, packaging fiasco, and safety issue with the plastic, this was an all-around terrible experience. We won’t be...
Read moreOur first experience with Amy's Italian restaurant was very enjoyable Amy herself waited on us and had her son be our server. We have tried many Italian restaurants in Oklahoma. And I have to admit that this is probably one of the top of all that we have tried My wife had the Amy special and enjoyed every bit of it. (She just about cleaned her plate) A little bit of pasta leftover I had a small bowl of minestrone soup which was the size of a soccer ball. So I had half of that to bring home to enjoy later I ordered my usual make my own spaghetti to compare to the other restaurants that I have eaten at here in Norman. When I order this make your own spaghetti I order it with meat sauce and an additional three meatballs the meat sauce and spaghetti were a 10 out of 10. But the meatballs were a 12 out of 10 they were exceptionally good. Thank you Amy for making my wife's birthday dinner something special. We will not forget this soon. And know that we will be back to enjoy more of your hospitality and food. I will highly recommend you to anyone asking for a place to eat here in Norman. Also if anybody ask me about food in Enid I will send them to Napoli with the family recipe it has to be good also, I hope I didn't leave anything out. And if I did I will post it when I come...
