Boomarang Diner - Norman (Constitution) — Restaurant in Norman

This location has some serious challenges. Service is always extremely slow - breakfast and lunch service is not quick as advertised. Expect to wait awhile to be acknowledged, wait for your drink, and a long wait for food service. First visit for lunch took about 75 minutes for a sandwich and chili frito pie. Second visit for breakfast took close to an hour and a half for 2 people. That visit we saw several people walk up with their cups (soda, water and coffee) asking for refills. What happened to full table service? To-go orders typically are handled quickly (as in ready well before scheduled pickup time), so that’s the reason for 1 star. Today: breakfast to go was ordered for pickup at 8:30. I arrive and at 8:19 send the text with order number, name and spot as directed in the pickup instructions and pickup parking sign. Wait..wait…wait. Nothing. I called at 8:36. The guy who answered the phone said he didn’t know about a to go order and he would get a manager. He didn’t put me on hold, instead as he is passing the phone to the manager he said “I didn’t know there was an order, I was in the restroom”. The manager said he didn’t know I had been waiting (meanwhile I’m parked right in front of the door and see him on the phone talking to me). He couldn’t tell me how long the food had been ready but assured me it should be warm because “it’s been under the warmer a long time”. I asked for a refund. He said they cannot process refunds on to go orders. What?! I don’t want the food if it’s been sitting out for a long time and the total lack of service or acknowledgment of them ignoring the to go ready notification has me ready to go elsewhere. Finally after some disagreements, he (supposed manager) brought me cash as a refund.

TL;DR - stay away! Food service is slow, food quality is just ok. Save time and go to CFA or you would be better served with oncue...

"I recently dined at Boomerang Diner and let me tell you, it was a gastronomical experience like no other. I walked in expecting a normal meal, but what I got was a flavor explosion so intense, my taste buds are still recovering.

Miranda was a hoot too! She kept me entertained with her jokes and dancing to Elvis tunes. I was laughing so hard, I almost choked on the complimentary toothpicks!

The food was out of this world, every dish was like a work of edible art. I ordered the Old Fashioned burger and it was like a symphony of flavors in my mouth. I swear, the chef must have a magic wand because it was that good.

And the drinks, oh the drinks! The Diet Dr Pepper was like liquid gold. I felt like a king sipping on that goodness. I even asked for the recipe, but they said it's a secret and they'll have to kill me if they told me. I'm still alive so I guess they were joking but I'm not taking any chances

The highlight of my meal was the dessert, it was a fried pie, and it was so good, I wanted to cry. I didn't cry, but I did make a little noise, I think it was a moan of pleasure.

Overall, Boomerang Diner was an experience like no other. It's the perfect spot for a date night, a family dinner, or just a casual hangout with friends. I'll definitely be back for more of their delicious food, drinks and entertainment. And if you're lucky, you might catch me doing the happy dance in the corner....

Stopped in for a bite to eat. Ordered 2 burgers fries and tots. Took about 25 min to get. While waiting seen about 4-5 people come In to pick up orders not one was even ready. Two people Came in and sit down about 10 min after us to the table next to us had their food in about 10-15 min. When ours finally came out they said they dropped the tots late I will bring them right out. So we had our burgers 10 min later still no tots. Never did our waitress come over to offer refills at any time or to check on our order. If they were packed I would almost understand but they were not. They did do a lot of cutting up and chatting. Noticed one table was missing some of their order and had to ask twice for the item. We will not be going back to this location. I still don't know what happened to the tots by now I'm sure they are burnt being in the deep fryer this long. When I told her while paying she needed to remove the item I didn't get she just said oh ok. Since we had no service for the first time we didn't leave a tip. When you can't refill a simple tea or complete the order because your too busy standing around talking tells me you really care as much about a tip as you did your customer. Good luck if you stop in here. Maybe it was just that crew I don't know but...
