Happy Day Donuts — Restaurant in Norman

Holy moley, the dessert gods have been called to deliver!! Hands down, the BEST donuts I've EVER had in my lifetime. Donuts are my kryptonite and I make it an appoint to wake up at the crack of dawn on my weekends to indulge. Of all the donut shops I've been to, rather, of all the dessert shops I've been to, nothing tops this gem! These donuts are made fresh daily and they are so fluffy, airy, light, with a subtle surprise crunch you might get here and there. I shamlessly eat 3-4 donuts throughout the day! The owners are so personable and have recognized a friendly face, alongside a regular customer, so much so that they spoil me with extra goodies. The shop is also spotless and I love that I can see the kitchen to validate there's nothing fishy going on back there. Officially my forever and go to one stop dessert...

My husband and our 3 children (age 6, 10, 10) got here at 12 noon today, they show they are open until 1p, we paid and as soon as we sat down to eat (at 12:10p) they came over to the table and said we had to leave. I asked “Why? We have paid and are on the road traveling, and won’t take long to eat a donut”, and the lady said “We are closing.” I said “It is posted that you are open until 1p?” And she said “No we are not.” No apology, nothing. Absolutely love this place for their Old Fashioned Donuts! They have a fun selection of decorated donuts my own kids have gleefully poured over, also a drip coffee station and a couple coolers with sodas, juices, and milks. They have breakfast options which you can either have warmed up on the spot, or take away to have warmed up later at work (spinach & cream cheese croissants, egg & cheese, egg + cheese & ham, and a hot dog wrapped in a croissant.) Pricing is EXTREMELY reasonable. Lots of parking. Mornings you may end up in line, but I always wait because...
