Everyone knows the struggle of finding a good breakfast/brunch place in Norman (especially on a Sunday)... right? Or is it just me?
I found this place and assumed it would be just as difficult to get a table as nearby Neighborhood JAM and Syrup (RIP). Normally these "quaint" brunch spots are even comparable to your local DMV/DPS office in terms of a wait!
This was NOT my experience at Levity. In fact, this was not an issue at all here, and it's easy to see why with how they operate. First off, you are directed to order and pay first, take a number, and then find a table. You aren't directly waited on, but instead they have "runners" (for lack of a better term) that check in on you periodically. You are also encouraged to bus your own table (we did), however, we saw some who didn't. We found that this method was just as effective as being fully waited on without all the hassle of waiting on a table to open up for a server. Some may prefer to have a dedicated server, given the price of the meals (which was, in our opinion, standard for a place like this), however, the meal quality and friendly staff easily compensates for this.
Food comes out QUICK (at least for my party of two at around noon). We ordered two 411s, an avocado toast, a couple of OJs (Simply Orange brand) and a latte. The latte was superb, and as it should be since this place has roots in Portland, Oregon (a.k.a. the coffee roasters' capital of North America). Also, the avocado toast is no slouch... it MEANS BUSINESS. Our only regret was ordering TWO 411s, since I had made the assumption that it wouldn't be much in terms of quantity. Boy I was so wrong. Rest assured, you will not be disappointed in the quantity (or quality) of your meal here.
Finally, as this review is getting long, our only note of "missed opportunities" from our experience was that this place can get quite loud depending on where you sit and when. This is true of any place like this, especially at around 12:00-13:00 (as us Americans love to get loud at the "table"). One reason is that Levity is a somewhat small place, as this looks like it used to be a house, but they do use their space well for what they got and have plenty of outdoor seating for use in more fair temperatures.
One last thing. I would love if this place implemented a freshly-squeezed orange juice (or other/multiple juice) option(s). This addition would be a perfect "pairing" with their high-quality meals! I think Simply Orange sells them a bit short, especially at $3 per cup (8 floz).
Overall, I'm giving Levity a full 5 stars and would fully recommend this for anyone seeking SUPERB quality breakfast and brunch/lunch style...

Also forgot to give me my mug for coffee, which cause another miscommunication/delay. 2. The "Oreo peanut butter scone" (as labeled in the display) was actually like an orange chocolate chip flavor. 3. My gf ordered over-medium eggs and they were super runny, definitely not medium. Other minor issues, but those were the main three.
I will say there was one guy walking around that was providing great service and seemed to really care. Also the outdoor seating is nice, but the tables were very dirty. But overall, I don't think we'll be back after two questionable experiences now. Why is it so hard for places to just do things right?
Original Review: Overall we were happy. My girlfriend loved her scones and gravy, and her egg was cooked perfectly. My waffle was a little overcooked/dry, and they're very stingy with their syrup here, but it was fine. Service was fine. Lattes were very good, but could've been steamed a bit hotter.
The place is a little disorganized. It's first come, first serve seat yourself seating, and it doesn't seem like the tables really get cleaned in between, so it's fend for yourself. It was busy when we were here, but the wait times really weren't bad overall. Also not overly expensive, which helps make this four stars instead of three.
We'd like to come back again sometime and hopefully they just get better the longer they're around. We'd recommend checking it out, but just don't expect things to be perfect. But again, overall, we were happy and...
Read moreWhen we walked in, it was busy. However, there was only one person ahead of us in line, so it took no time to order. The employees were attentive and friendly. I ordered the chai latte and the 411 sandwich. The latte was one of the best chai lattes I've had in Oklahoma. The 411 sandwich is a sausage patty, scrambled eggs cooked with chevre cheese inside, apricot jam, on a house-made three cheese chive scone. It is served with a potato cake, which is their version of a hashbrown. The chive scone was huge, and I mean huge. It was so big, there was no way to eat it like a sandwich, so I resorted to a knife and fork. The scone itself was very dry, but had a good chive flavor. The toppings were good. Good quality sausage and eggs! The chevre cheese was perfectly creamy, but the apricot jam was completely lost beneath the chive in the scone. The hashbrowns were good. My partner got the scones and gravy with scrambled eggs and bacon. The gravy is maple and sage sausage gravy, which has a sweetness that is thrown off by the underlying chive note in the scone. He also got the MJ latte, which was perfect and balanced. Also, $45 for a coffee, a tea, biscuits and gravy, and a breakfast sammie is a...
