Louie's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Norman

Edited: So happy to find this venue no longer smelled of machine motor oil!! Had a hankering for some of their pepperoni pizza so we gave them another try. 😋 So glad we did! This evening Hubby ordered the Italian Stallion sandwich we shared some pretzels while awaiting my pizza. The crimson amd cream shot was delightful as was their Oh So Cherry cocktail. Thank you Louie's for a fantastic evening of food and drinks.

We normally eat at the Pub W in this area however recently had been looking to try other options that have a bar. As soon as we arrived in the western section of Brookhaven we noticed a distinct aroma of industrial machine oil. We didn't think anything of it as outside of Volcano Sushi Bar next door we smelled it as well however the interior was odor free...

Unfortunately Louie's smelled heavily of the odor so while eating you could actually taste it. Do not recommend sitting at the end of the bar to dine as the doors are directly behind this area and you'll be fighting off flies the entire time. If you are able to reach beyond the industrial machine oil coating on everything, the food wasn't bad. Their nachos, pizza and funnel cake fries are...

This was our first time visiting this location. It is in a good area. The restaurant is clean. However when my husband and I arrived at the entrance there is a sign that says to 'wait to be seated' staff passed by us several times until one of them casually walks by (again) and says "oh, just sit wherever". No one greeted us at our arrival or at the table until the waitress shows up about 8 to 10 mins. later. We waited the usual amount of time for our food and drinks. However, we had to ask for our water we ordered (aside from our bar drinks). And after our drinks and food we no longer were waited on.We brushed it off and tried enjoy the rest of the dinner time. But as time went on, it became obvious the staff was more concerned with other customers that came in after we did, as they were all greeted as they walked in and were waited on immediately and waited on throughout their visit. Previous visits have gone well. Unfortunately, Sunday did not. Our family group is usually eight and we’re accustomed to waiting for all the food to be prepared and delivered together. Perhaps sitting at the large table upstairs posed a problem for our server. He would bring a couple of drinks then run back downstairs. We wouldn’t see him for long periods. All eight meals were delivered luke warm. Drinks were rarely refilled and only if you were quick enough to flag down the server before he ran back downstairs. Consensus was he must’ve had a friend he wanted to visit with instead of serving patrons. Glad they didn’t automatically add tip because he didn’t earn it.
