Read moreHave been here several times in the past and usually have a great experience. Went today with my toddler for some quality time and felt ignored most of the time. Had to ask twice for a water refill. I ordered a coffee and hot chocolate, a (premade) warmed muffin, two sausage patties, and a cup of fruit to share with my kid. I was never offered a coffee menu or a kids menu, and I had to ask for silverware. Once our order was placed, I’m pretty sure our server forgot about it because it took 25 minutes before we got our drinks, 45 before the premade muffin, and an additional 15 before we got the sausage and fruit. In the meantime, I couldn’t even flag our server down while all this was going on. The sausage was lukewarm and the fruit brown. It’d be one thing if he was busy, but our server seemed way too busy chatting and standing behind the bar with the barista. Every time we received an item it was from someone that wasn’t our server. Asked for the check before we were finished since there was no urgency, but then he never came back to take payment. Finally had the manager’s attention to pick up payment and drop off my card. I don’t usually expect some sort of compensation or anything, but, having worked in restaurants in the past, I am surprised there wasn’t a comp or even a management apology offered. The lemon poppyseed muffin and coffee were the only reasons for a star because they were delicious! However, this experience has made me not sure...
Read morePress and Plow used to be a great brunch spot with great tea and coffee selections, but the overall quality has dropped since announcing their second location. The food here can still be worth a trip, but brunch wait times and the lack of offerings since their shift to coffee culture has made it less desirable.
Pros: Great location, easy to get to and right off the highway. Baked goods and fresh orange juice, when available, are delicious. Large selection of breakfast offerings with good vegetarian appeal.
Mixed: Food quality can vary from visit to visit. Overall meat quality has dropped in recent months, but is often still acceptable for the price range. Some sandwiches are available for brunch, but this selection is sorely lacking considering the quality of their breads.
Cons: Long lines and a cramped interior. Seating can take upwards of an hour or more. Coffee selection is decent but is typically scorched, even in mixed drinks. Lack of variety in jellies and jams, which is a shame if you have a strawberry allergy.
For fans of loose leaf tea and tea culture, please be advised Press and Plow is no longer offering their extensive tea selections and have made the switch to...
