I highly recommend the Prohibition Lounge for an event. They provide a fun atmosphere, excellent service, and fantastic food.
We held a rehearsal dinner here last weekend, which I planned from another state. JR Hurley and his team are great to work with. He listened to what we wanted and provided helpful suggestions. We reserved the whole place. It’s ideal for a party of 50 or fewer guests. They brought in some additional tables and chairs to suit our event. We played our own music over the sound system and had a personalized slideshow running on one of the three big screen TVs. The Prohibition Lounge has a fun vibe with twinkle lights and seasonal decor, and we added our own table decorations.
We opted for a buffet service. When our guests arrived, hot appetizers were ready to go. We sampled the spinach dip, Italian queso, and meatballs. Everything was delicious and disappeared!
Once the appetizers were gone, they kept the buffet full with a variety of pizzas. I liked everything I tried, which included the spicey prosciutto (which has a tasty combination of prosciutto, jalapeños and honey), meat lovers, BBQ chicken, and white chicken pie. In addition, they have a house made ranch dressing which was great for dipping.
We wrapped up our meal with hot cinnamon doughnut balls, which were the perfect ending to a delicious meal.
JR was attentive to our gluten free guests, serving a pizza with a GF crust (which is available on their standard menu) and also serving GF triangles (made from their GF pizza crust) to dip in the appetizers. The ranch is also GF.
You won’t be disappointed if you book an event at the Prohibition Lounge. The staff is friendly and easy to work with, the atmosphere is celebratory, and the food is fabulous. Several of our guests commented that they will return to eat at the Prohibition Lounge when visiting Norman...
Read moreKinda torn, food was good, but honesty the waitress was questionable. Arrived at 6:16, ordered drinks and appetizers. Ordered 2 pizzas at 6:32. Time is 7:20, and I ask how much longer. The waitress advised that there are a bunch of orders, so I replied that 4 tables have gone in and have gotten their food already. Was advised I wasn't forgotten. Was advised that when I turned around, the waitress rolled her eyes. 15 min later, the waitress advised she saw them being put in the oven. 20 minutes later after bug party got their pizza she comes back and said that they will comp the pizzas, I ask what happened, she advised the ticket got lost, I said but 20 minutes ago you told me that you saw them getting put in the oven so which is it. her lame response was, what do you want me to do. Tell the truth, I can accept that you forgot, but 4 different stories is unacceptable. No manage/owner to come over, just bitchy attitude from the waitress. It was not a pleasurable experience for...
Read moreWish I could rate this based on the food, service, and overall experience. Unfortunately I can’t because when we showed up for our office Christmas party we weren’t let in because we were told they were closing early for a reservation of 40. When I called to make a reservation weeks ago I was told they didn’t take reservations and that they don't usually get busy until 7 or later (we showed up at 530) imagine my shock to find out they did in fact take reservations 😒 my party of 12 had to scramble to find an alternative on a busy Saturday night in Norman. They didn’t even try to remedy the situation or make it right. While I’m sure the place is great, I give it 2 stars for the poor communication and whoever the guy at the door was for telling us we could come in but had to be out by 615 ( leaving us only 45 min for a Christmas party) for the 7 o’clock reservation. Very...
