The Ice Creamatory â A Horror Fanâs Dream (With Killer Ice Cream!)
I've been wanting to try The Ice Creamatory in Norman for yearsâand wow, it was 100% worth the trip from Midwest City. The second my friend and I saw the artwork on the windows and door, we were hooked. We had to take a picture in front of it before even going in. Horror vibes, cool designsâjust awesome.
Inside? Straight-up gothic horror heaven. Coffin tables, skulls, candles, Chucky dolls, the Scream mannequin, even one of those massive 12-foot skeletons just chilling in the corner. Itâs dark, spooky, and completely immersive. If you love Halloween, horror movies, or just creepy cool stuff, youâll feel right at home.
The staff was super friendly and noticed right away it was our first time (probably because I couldnât stop taking pictures). They explained how everything works and were super patient while we took forever reading the menu and gawking at everything.
You can build your own ice cream with what looks like a hundred+ toppingsâcereals, candies, sauces, and moreâor you can grab one of their pre-made creations with horror-themed names. I got the Samhain, and my friend got the Wednesday Addams. Both were amazing. The flavor combos are unique, and the quality was legit. Rich, creamy base ice cream (vanilla or chocolate), and so many topping choices itâs honestly overwhelming in the best way.
Everything about this place is just fun. Itâs special. It's not just a dessertâitâs a whole experience. We left already talking about coming back to try custom combos next time.
Highly recommend this place. Whether youâre a horror buff or just want some next-level ice cream, The Ice Creamatory is a must-visit....
Read moreDefinitely some pros and cons, but overall it was fun and the ice cream was great!
Cons: The wait time was a little rough (initially pegged at 30-45 minutes). We ordered a Hocus Pocus, Wednesday Addams, and I think the Monster squad, all cups. After an hour I asked about our order, and I think (I do have a difficult name) because they called by the cup type and not name, other people picked up our cups.
But, pros: The ladies working there obviously are working hard to make all the crazy amount of orders they have. Seriously, every single one of those ladies deserve a raise. They were kind, quick to help fix new cups up for us, and extremely apologetic, even though it wasn't their fault someone grabbed our cups. They responded with kindness and respect even when customers were not being kind to them, even though they were being grouched at for things far beyond their control.
Someone in the reviews mentioned the decor being thrift store purchased, which I think someone needs their eyes checked. The atmosphere and decor was awesome, and we loved looking at all the artwork from local artists, or otherwise. It was everything you would want to see in a horror themed eatery. It made the time go by faster when we had books to read, things to look at, art to buy.
The ice cream itself was really good. I loved all their different combinations, and the ones we ordered were absolutely delicious. It was worth it, even with the wait.
Overall, while it could use some help in streamlining (at the very least to help those young ladies not have to work so dang hard!), it really is well...

I tried the Trick or Treat Chocolate ice cream, and I must say, it was the perfect blend of rich chocolate and delightful surprises. The mix-ins made each spoonful an enjoyable treat, and I couldn't get enough of it!
My partner opted for the Ms. Voorhees ice cream, and judging by the look of pure satisfaction on his face, it was a hit as well.
