First of all, I would like to address the one star reviews on this restaurant. These are clearly blatant lies, exaggerations, and simply ridiculous. I’ve been going to the restaurant for 40 years, and never once have ever experienced anything like these people claim to have experience.
This is a classic family style, comfort, food, breakfast and lunch restaurant that serves the most amazing food and the biggest pancakes you’ll ever see. They do say the pancakes a small on the menu, but trust their version of small is giant! Every server I’ve ever interacted with through my memory has always been pleasant and welcoming. Just like you were at home. I’ve never had a problem getting coffee refills there’s always plenty of cream delivered and I have never ever once been served on paper plates. Clearly, some of these people have forgotten that there was a pandemic and restaurants switch to paper products. I did not die in this restaurant when they were doing this, so I can’t say either way. But I can only assume that that’s why somebody was served on paper products.
My overall experience on my most recent visit was above excellent. Our server was attentive. The restaurant was clean and organized. There were other servers walking around filling coffees and waters for all.
At a time, when supporting small businesses are the best way to keep the economy in our hometowns flowing, this is definitely a hidden gem...
Read moreI was there for a quick breakfast while waiting for someone and ordered a grilled muffin and 1 egg. I can't complain about the food I've been going there for years and it was always good, but for the 1 egg they charged me $5.99, when I asked why she said because 1 egg can't be ordered only from the menu, typically 1 egg would come with homefries and and toast for the $5.99 which I did not even receive by the way and the waitress NEVER mentioned it to me when I gave her my order, she apologized for not telling me but would not adjust the price at all...I felt unfairly treated and said I would no longer go there.. Had she brought the home fries and toast with the egg I would have had no viable complaint but she did not. Had she informed me it would be $5.99 for just the egg I would have changed my order. So customer be aware of their menu!! I am seriously saddened by this...as a customer for years I did not feel valued at all and did something I had never done ...by not leaving a tip....I always tip well so do not judge me for that, I have been a waitress and believe it could have been handled better...
Read moreFamily owned and operated breakfast and lunch. Weekly customer, no wait, fast friendly available service, great coffee, and the food always quick, hot, lumberjack portions, as ordered: delicious. Affordable. Best homemade muffins. Family or to meet a friend, the place to go. A&Js gets better in quality every week we stop in for breakfast. If your favorite is their breakfast sandwich, they always make it to specifications week after week. Their homemade muffins are IMO, the best, and hot off the grill with whipped butter is a treat. The service provided by their three woman team is without exception, the best. My review is of course biased. We eat there once weekly from late spring to late fall and over time, a favorite place becomes “the Best”. I enjoy trying other restaurants, but for the most important meal, without thought, I choose A&Js. I wish I could provide a proper professional review with more specifics, but I see the hard work, and the food, I’ve not...
