We were exploring Indo-Chinese restaurants around us and decided to try Chopsticks III. While the overall experience was good, I want to highlight the positive part of the owner hosting and engaging with guests and sharing insights as the most delightful. Other than that, the ambience with a good choice of color scheme of white and gold uplifting the visual perception of what I would consider an over optimized space, with welcoming music. Would however be hard to move around if the restaurant was fully occupied given the challenges we had to seat just 6 people and moving food around. When it came to food, in appetizers, what our family overall found reasonable was Dry Chilly Chicken and the Veg Hakka Noodles though we have had experience of having better. The others like Paneer Satay was disappointing in taste while the Chicken Lollipop was outright sad and didn't even seem like chicken. It was the saddest dish we probably had anywhere so far. Our second round was perhaps a bit more challenging with a mistake of having requested less salt, given most dishes tasting bland or rather disappointing and we had to add the chilly vinegar and sauces giving it some taste. We were very disappointed with the entrees, all though the owner did share health benefits that we did agree upon, like not using MSG or Maida which we definitely felt were healthier choices. But the fact remains that we have options to eat healthy at home and would perhaps look to satisfy our nostalgic taste buds on such celebratory rendezvous. We didn't have the heart to say anything about the food since the service was good with the owner paying regular attention, though there was only one other family apart from us, and the restaurant being open on the Christmas evening which in itself seemed to be a bonus. While we most enjoyed the conversation with the owner, in my humble opinion, a good restaurant would let the food talk for itself and do the word of mouth, rather than raise a question if it is a second...
Read moreOne of the most horrible experiences in terms of food quality and it made us really angry, especially given all the Covid situation where restaurants should in-fact be reducing prices and focusing on quality to boost their business. We ordered 5 appetizers - 2 vegetarian, 2 chicken and 1 fish appetizer. Firstly, the waiter didn't take up our order correctly. I had to make him repeat it 3 times to ensure that he got it down properly. Given the expensive items on the menu where they are charging us 3-4$ overboard per dish as opposed to some other much better restaurants in the vicinity, we expected the quality to be at-least half-decent. The food was prepared and packed in less than 10 minutes and it was as if they simply micro-waved frozen preparations and handed it to us. When we went home, heated the food again and ate the appetizers, it turned out to be quite horrible at all levels. The chicken was really stale, 1 of the chicken dishes was way too spicy to be edible in any way and some people thought the smell of fish was quite weird in 1 of the preparations as well. The vegetarian dishes were not as disappointing to say the least but they were still quite ordinary in taste and freshness. We have constantly been trying since 3 to 4 days to get our money back for such stale food but haven't found any luck so far. They keep telling us that the manager will call us the next day but we haven't found our way to the owner yet. I hope this review helps others make a more informed choice to completely avoid eating anything from this place.
THE OWNER IS LYING - WE CANT TAKE THE FOOD OUT FROM THE TRASH AND RETURN IT TO HIM, THE FOOD WAS STALE AND HORRIBLE. WE NEVER ASKED FOR A DISCOUNT, WE ARE ASKING FOR OUR MONEY BACK FOR SUCH STALE FOOD WHICH HE PREPARED IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES. MORE SO, THE OWNER HAS AMPLE TIME TO RESPOND TO OUR REVIEWS BUT STILL HAS NO COURAGE TO SPEAK TO US ON THE...
Read moreI have an updated review. Since the CoVID start we have ordered twice and the food quality has definitely changed. Sadly, the Chilli Paneer dry which used to be our favorite dish with green chillies, has become bland and quite tasteless. The Gobi Manchurian gravy is just terrible.. too salty. The O Chopstix appetizer is really good but it does not have the baby corn as listed. The veg hot garlic noodles, the veg chilli garlic fried rice were good. The veg. Ginger fried rice was good but used to be much better in the past .. say a year back. The soups both veg sweet corn and veg hot and sour were decent.
The quantities have gone down. I had to remove one star mainly because the quality of the chilli paneer has dropped precipitously..Hope it comes back to its glorious levels of past.. full of green chilies, been pepper, green onion and yummy coating on the paneer.
Also the person at the front desk was very polite and helpful.. thanks
,..............earlier review...!.........
We have been there several times. We love the chilli paneer dry and the Gobi Manchurian.. no place makes it better.. The soups are also well made especially the hot and sour soup .. just the right consistency and heat. The ginger fried rice is made perfectly with the rice cooked to the correct level. Only the Hakka noodles was sub par. The service was exemplary this time with the waiter being...
