I forget how long ago I wrote the "downhill" portion of this review, but they're back to their "A" game again. We've visited close to a dozen times since they were beleaguered with their slowness and poort tasting food. Every visit since has been astounding, just like they used to be years ago. They're back to 5 stars for me.
Original post:
El Rincon is going downhill and I mean fast. And I hate to say that because…
We've been coming here since the year it opened. It has always been spectacular. Seated as quickly as possible, orders taken quickly as possible and food served regularly faster than any place I've ever been to, bar none.
But something's changed. Call me a skeptic, but they've opened a few new locations and the disappointment at this location started suspiciously at the same time.
Also, when the new locations opened, fresh menus were printed and some new staff showed up to compliment the old.
The service SUCKS now. While you are seated just as quickly, they must be under a managerial directive to hold off the drinks order until they think you’re ready to order the meal. We have waited 10 minutes for the drinks/food order (ie, first contact) four times in a row.
Two of those times, our meals were wrong. Way, way wrong. Like different table wrong. And tonight was the longest we ever waited for our food. It’s Wednesday.
The margaritas are never frozen anymore. They’re supposed to be, but they’re coming out a watery mess. Oh, salt was forgotten twice in a row.
Personally, I think they’re becoming stretched too thin. The service is horrible. And that was THE reason to come to El Rincon. The place was known for lightning quick, accurate service and pretty good food.
Now, you get someone ELSE’S pretty good food after sitting at the table for 30 minutes.
We’ll be back in 12 months. I hope they read this and I hope they fix...
Read moreThis place is normally one of our “go to, favorite” mexican food spots but after last night’s experience it wont be our first choice any longer. We had a party of 5, we were seated fairly quick. Our waiter was an older gentleman and he was very inattentive and honestly kind of rude. He acted as if every trip to our table was a problem. When it came time to ordering, 4/5 of us ordered and one of our party was missing a page or two from their menu and was trying to find something familiar and the waiter walked away without the persons order, he attended other tables and kitchen orders then came back to take their order. We ordered cheese dip and got it the same time our food was brought out, one of our chicken Chimichanga dinners was ice cold inside the chimichanga. Upon telling the waiter he seemed irritated and as if it was a problem so we just kept the dish and only ate the rice and cream salad. There were no refills or offers to refill. He placed one of our adult meal which was a hot sizzling plate in front of a 1 year old instead of walking it around the table. Normally we can brush off a bad experience because its one of our favorites but this experience changed that. The lack of personal skills or professionalism he portrayed...
Read moreThis was one of our favorite restaurants to eat at , it's quite a drive from our house , we have been wanting to eat here for about 2 weeks , so tonite after our grandson's ball game , we decided to get dinner here , well it took longer then usual to get drinks , the first batch of salsa was ok , the second batch was HORRIBLE !!! We asked for a new bottle , thinking it would be better , it was not , so we had no salsa for our tacos and chips , which ruined our meals . My boyfriend didn't even eat his meal bcuz it tasted horrible , the tortilla had to be wayy old bcuz it tasted like hay ! He is a diabetic so he asked for diet Coke , they gave him regular Coke , so he didn't drink it .. They charged us for all the meals even though we told them they were not good .. and barely touched them .. Probably won't be back to...
