The owner lady is SUPER nice and very personable (even though English isn't her primary language). I wasn't sure what to order so I asked her how some dishes were made and what her preference was. She was informative and helpful. I got take out, but I observed the owner taking the time to talk to her customers and showed a general interest in talking with her customers and ensuring they enjoyed all of their meal; food and atmosphere included :) Even though I was getting take out and wasn't there very long, she STILL took the time to strike-up a conversation with my boyfriend and I! She's genuinely very sweet :)
The food was made fresh, not too quickly nor too slow, which I appreciate because it's obvious that they take time to cook their food WELL, not just fry it up and pump it out. That being said, the portions are NICELY sized and the food is really good!!! :D (I ordered the Mongolian beef with fried rice, shrimp lo mein, and crab meat & cream cheese wontons.)
I'm half Chinese and I can't help but overly analyze Chinese restaurants, especially ones that are owned by Chinese people because I expect a little more. This restaurant was VERY good and I highly recommend this little hidden treasure :)
I hope everyone has the same experience as I did. I know for sure I'll be returning and NOT just because it's close to my house. I will definitely be referring this place to others and encourage anyone and everyone to give it a shot and share your positive experience too because I think this place deserves a little more recognition than...
Read moreBy far the worst tasting Chinese I have ever eaten.
The tempura was all overcooked. The egg rolls had a nasty aftertaste, where you could taste the silicone preservative in the fry oil.
Additionally, both the tempura chicken and teriyaki chicken, where excessively dry. The teriyaki chicken on a stick, had a texture like leather.
And the rest of it was so bland and devoid of necessary fats, salts and sugars, that it was hardly palatable beyond the taste of the food being overcooked or cooked in overused and burned oil.
Additionally, it made my family sick. We eat very clean normally, so it likely was preservatives, additives or the quality of the food.
I had requested an order of Sweet and Sour Chicken, which I was charged for but was not on the order and I had to drive back to pick it up.
The older female owner was highly confrontational when I called to ask for a refund, stating "nobody complains about my food".
But going by the comments section, that is not entirely true.
She asked to call me back to resolve it but has yet to.
I would not recommend...
Read moreJust ok, wouldn't order here again.. We ordered orange chicken, veggie lo mein, sweet & sour chicken, and wanted general tso's, which was not on the menu, but they said governor's chicken was the same thing...odd because tso's is spicy and general's was not listed as such. Also had fried rice and egg rolls.
Pros: there were lots of veggies in the lo mein, which was refreshing. Good customer service.
Cons: the chicken was DRY...all of it. Everything was underseasoned. Dishes that were supposed to be spicy were not at all (even asked for extra spicy on the general's and it still wasn't much). The sweet and sour chicken was already sauced and was packaged together with the white rice, which soaked up a lot of the sauce (not necessarily all bad, but certainly not the norm).
Other notes: if you want Chinese in 10 minutes, this is not the place. We had a 30 minute wait on a Sunday night. Also, I am 98% sure there was cinnamon in the egg rolls. Maybe just from Chinese 5 spice, but it was a bit overpowering and new to me. Beware if...
