Honestly I was disappointed. I haven't been there since they moved locations but decided to order delivery from there one day after church. My family had just moved and we were eager to get back to unpacking and so far I was impressed by the local Door dash experience so I suggested Hwy 55.
First there were issues with delivery so I ended up having to go pick it up myself and forfeit the ease... Which isn't their fault at all BUT even with that, I'd hoped their amazing food would make up for the snafu.
It didn't. At all. First the kid's meal arrived without the car which really? Then it's just a small meal for a child. Oh they did send the stickers that are used to DECORATE THE CAR for a child without a car. (I've received the car before with delivery so that's not the issue) His chicken and his fries were burnt and black and really gross looking. I didn't make him eat it, obviously.
I got the fried pickles which I love but with no side dressing so the ones I did eat were very sour and needed the ranch.
No napkins. A lot of grease.
The ONLY saving grace is when I went in to pick up the order myself and was greeted with super friendly faces and smiles by the Mgr and the cashier. The white milk was good.
I will go again someday but I won't do the delivery. I understand an off day but this was pretty bad and yucky.
I worked orders as a Togo person at a very popular restaurant in North Myrtle Beach for 3 years and there is no reason that anyone should get less than the best from the delivery server. It starts with the restaurant. If you don't have pride in what you're serving, it reflects on the entire entity, not the delivery person, or pickup in this case.
I created my own business cards and provided those with extra napkins, toothpicks, and mints... The same as offered if dining...
Read moreI've loved this place since before it was highway 55. Always has good cheesesteak, French fries are really good and onion rings are amazing. Only thing is the chicken strip for kids meal were really greasy would probably never get them again for my little one but other then that it was really good.
Update- I went yesterday 3/19/2023 we got our order taken and we waiting for almost a hour. People across from us came in after our order was taken and got there food before us. Few people did. Never checked on us to see why we hadn't got our food. Then my husband had to go up to the front to ask what was going on waitress forgot to put our order in. Then when finally brought food out fries were cold and food was lukewarm. My order was not correct. My son never got his kids car and my husband even asked for it and we never got it.The Waitress came and checked on us after we got food but never before. By time all was said and done we wanted to walk out but we ate what we could and paid and left. This was the worse experience ever and I will definitely be taking my business somewhere else. Always loved coming to highway 55 but...
Read moreThis is the 2nd time we have been disappointed since going to the new location. Prices have gone up but quality and quantity ha e gone down. I know this has been the case pretty much everywhere, but we paid "up charges for food we didn't even get. The last time we paid extra for (flavorless)chilli on our cheeseburgers and still couldn't hardly find it, plus they didn't even have any cheese on them, AND the burger was 1/2 the size of the bun. Today I ordered the shrimp plate and td them to hold the slaw. The waitress said I could substitute a different side so I asked for onion rings. I was told there would be an up charge since it was a premium side. Note that the difference on the menu between fries and onion rings is 44 cents. When my food arrived I received a whopping total of exactly 4 small onion rings! The "upcharge" for my premium side was $1.50. My mom substituted onion rings for her (tiny)burger combo and did get a 3 or 4 more onion rings, but was also charged $1.50 extra. With the tip, our lunch was $30. Do yourself a favor and go down the street to Cookout and get better food...
