Bagel Dock Express-Shallotte — Restaurant in Shallotte

Well, the food is usually good, but I didn't get to taste it today. I needed a big order of some decent food for a breakfast for my job, so I called bagel dock at around 6:35 this morning (The website says they open at 6:30, and I've been there before around 6:30). I called three times and was circling the parking lot as I was calling. I saw 3 workers in there but nobody would answer the phone, it would go to voicemail and tell me to order online. When I tried to order online, the earliest pickup time was 7:30, and it couldn't be adjusted. Also, the OPEN sign was not on. Since I was limited on time, I just left. Highly disappointed. B.D missed out on a lot of money.

And just to add to my review, after the manager's reply, seems like instead of trying to downplay my review , the manager would take it as constructive criticism and also acknowledge the fact that I said that they have good food in my very first sentence, this is one of the better restaurants we have in the area, hence the reason I came here in the first place. But a manager downplaying someone's review doesn't really make them look too good, especially because many people who read these reviews also read how a manager /owner responds or handles a negative review. I am a food/restaurant reviewer, so if I have an issue or if I have a great experience, I'm going to post it, period!

And If I could have gone in the store, I would have! I don't need instructions on how to place an order for food . and I don't understand what the point of the manager/owner saying "they in fact answered the phone before 6:30" has to do with anything. THEY DIDN'T ANSWER MY CALL AFTER CALLING 3 TIMES, AFTER 6:35! How about taking responsibility and stop trying to make excuses for...

Just take your money and through it in the garbage or flush it down the toilet. This place is trash. Buying off the low end of the food service truck their product quality is equivalent to that of any common fast food chain, and I would even say worse, if you are someone who enjoys or knows what good deli is you will be sorely disappointed. I wouldn’t feel this to a dog. I’m a person that doesn’t eat from drive throughs or chilis, or Applebees or any of the places that are common. I like authentic or I’ll make it myself. Huge thumbs down. Go to the one in Calabash. It’s real NY style deli there, and they have a total water filtration system for EVERYTHING!!! The Bagel Deli in Calabash is like going to the Disney World of Bagels. It’s on the waterfront down there, and they have EVERYTHING!! You won’t leave hungry, sad or angry or disappointed like I did from this bagel place in Shallotte. If you live in shallotte and can’t get to calabash for a good Bagel just go to Walmart and buy some bagels from there, it’s the same thing they are offering at the bagel store...

Shallotte- This was my old review “Great NY style bagels” I have been going here less and less over the last 2 years. The quality is going down and the prices going up. I really soured to them the day they charged me $13 for a 2 egg bagel with cheese and extra bacon! I haven’t been back in 2 months since I ordered a buttered bagel and got a bagel with a whisper of butter, I mean it filled in some of the holes but you could clearly see every bit of bagel!
