La Costa Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in North Carolina

Got food home and realized we were missing half our meal and the $6 cup of queso was only half full. Called the restaurant and they said no problem they could either remake it so we had a completely hot meal or comp it. Asked them to please remake it. Drove all the way back up, and then they tell us they aren't remaking the whole meal, just giving us what was missing. Told them we wouldn't have come back for it had they told us that up front. Front staff refused to even get the manager, said we could come back tomorrow and get it because it was close to closing. Told them we didn't trust them to follow through, then the girl offered cash instead. My boyfriend accepted but laughed on his way out and told them the review wouldn't be good, and the girl mocked him in response. ...

I appreciate these guys success in their business but I'm so confused bc of the quality of the food. Very generic food that honestly taste very bland and it almost seems like its out of a can. I'm usually overly nice about reviews but this went over the line. Without sounding mean, the only word I can come up with is processed and fast food chain-like. Btw, if you don't ask for the white cheese, they will give you this melted, yellow velveeta cheese tasting stuff. the only thing I really enjoyed was the chips. Service was nice, but my wife and I will not be returning. I'm only writing this review bc if it were my business I'd want 100% honesty...

Sneaky menu. Advertise sour cream and guacamole on all their dishes, but upcharge you $2 each because whatever dish you order is "the only one" that doesn't include it...even though the menu says it is included.

The food is great and they should charge more than to resorting to unethical strategies to make an extra couple bucks.

If you want great authentic food - go for it.

If you care about the ethics of their business, then don't support this establishment.
