Visited this establishment in Waxhaw on 12/26/24. There were 2 - 6 person and 1-5 person parties waiting to be seated with ours being the last. At 6:30 we were told 10-15 minutes for a table which then became a half hour.
I understand when restaurants are short staffed but with 30 years in the restaurant business if you open tables always seat them and explain to your customers that there will be a delay and have the host or hostess take the drink order or even an appetizer order. If you keep them sitting at the door so does the money in their wallet. The faster you seat them the faster they spend money. We arrived at 6:30 and at 7:20 we still were not seated even though there were over 6 tables open in the back and 1 in the front. Though there were 2 tables side by side for a party of six in the front, you would think we would be seated there. Absolutely not three of the hostesses friends enter the restaurant and we're immediately seated at one of those 2 tables. When questioned about it the employees said that they were not allowed to put tables together which I know is a lie because we have dined there many times and tables that are next to each other have been pushed together to accommodate.
At 7:35 we are seated at the 6 person table in the empty back room and our waitress Isabella greeted us. We ordered and one person in the group ordered a soup to go. Mind you the soup order was never put in and the kitchen closed.
Isabella was great with the exception of the soup issue. We had also asked to speak to the shift leader who apparently couldn't be bothered because she never came out.
Here are my suggestions for the owner and management.
*The hostess that sat her friends before us, should be reprimanded what made it worse, we had already been waiting over 45 minutes.
*The kitchen needs to notify serving staff before just shutting it down, who knows the bill for the table which was in excess of $100 may have increased along with the waitresses tip of we were given a chance to place last minute orders.
If management/owners wants to reach out to me via IM I would be willing to...
Read moreWe have gone to Ming Fu consistently for about five years now, and never had an issue until tonight. I picked up my order like I always do, tipped well, like I always do and proceeded to return home with my food. As soon as I brought it in the door, I received a call that they had given me the wrong order. They asked if I would bring it back which I did. “Teddy” was the order that was sent with me. I picked my food up and brought it home. By the time I got it home it had sat there for well over 30 minutes at the restaurant. Everything had to be microwaved. I was given a $15 gift card for the inconvenience of having to food back-and-forth due to their error. I called to let them know that everything was cold and had to be microwaved. I was given a $20 credit. So yes at the end of the day I was credited for $35 which is about half of my order. The point of this post is to make you aware that you need to be checking your order because the staff is not doing so. I guess I should’ve just kept Teddy’s food and gotten the full refund for what I ordered but I was trying to keep the problem from getting bigger and affecting other families. The brings me to another point, Teddy‘s food was brought to my house, and I’m sure was given to Teddy. I worked in the food services industry many many years ago and you do not re-serve food to another customer. So we’ll just leave that there. I do appreciate that the manager talk to the staff, but buyer beware. Someone else’s food came home with me and was probably sent back with them. Teddy I promise I didn’t do anything to your food, but that should never...
Read moreI was given a gift card from a friend for Mingfu in Waxhaw NC and went to use it last Sunday for lunch. I gave it to our server and she said she would give it to the manager for approval because it was an old gift card, there is no expiration date on the card and I have $40 on the card to use. The Manager came to our table a few minutes later and informed me that they cannot except the card because they changed their programs on their system and they kept the old one for a couple of years and its there no longer able to except the card anymore. I said ok mam I have $40 left on the card what am I supposed to do about getting my money out of the card, she kept saying I'm sorry but we just can't except it because of our new system, I asked again well what about the $40 that my friend spent on it with your business? Again she said I'm sorry sir we just can't except it. By this time I'm getting nowhere and instead of arguing with her about it I said fine we will be leaving and going somewhere else to eat. I have been going to Mingfu and Waxhaw for years and the food and service has been excellent until now. Instead of offering me a new updated card for my $40 she just let us walk out and go spend my money somewhere else. There is no expectation date on the card and she could've resolved this problem and kept a long time customer by exchanging it with a new one but she chose to ignore the situation and now I won't go back to the establishment because of it. Thank you for your time...
