My fiancƩ and I went for the Wallburg spirit night. They were really busy, so we didn't mind the 30 minute wait for our food.
My mom met us there and tried to order a grilled pimento cheese sandwich. The cashier asked her if she wanted chicken or a burger. My mom politely said she just wanted a grilled pimento cheese sandwich. The cashier then asked if she wanted a plain grilled cheese. My mom, now annoyed, said yes, but to make it pimento cheese. The cashier then asked her if she just wanted a cup of pimento cheese. My mom said nevermind and just walked out to sit with us.
What we did mind was that when we got our food, everything was wrong. We did get the kids burger fixed, but they didn't give him fries or a drink with his kids meal. They charged us for a third drink, even though the menu they have online said the kid's meal includes fries and a drink. They gave us grief over not specifying it was a kid's meal... A 10 year old ordered a burger, fries, and drink, for himself. You could've figured that one out yourself.
When I sat down outside and realized that my burger had one leaf of lettuce, instead of lettuce, tomato, and pickles, I continued to eat my burger, because I didn't personally want to cause any sort of extra backup inside. They were busy, I could see that. We ate the rest of our food the way it was because we didn't feel like dealing with any more wait time.
Personally, I thought the burger was too greasy and rich, and since it didn't have the veggies I ordered on it, it didn't have any bit of a crunch or relief from just meat/cheese. If that's your thing, then great, enjoy it. But to be known as the "Best Burger in NC," is far from truth.
The couple that ate next to us also dealt with some similar issues, and the woman was a little more determined to get things fixed. She was adamant about getting extra cheese, and stormed outside making sure she was heard about how the manager was rude.
Overall, I'm disappointed. Especially considering it was about the same price as a trip to Five Guys. I ate there back in 2012 and enjoyed it. It's like the fame caused them to stop caring about the quality of food and service.
UPDATE
Since their social media manager decided to respond calling me "Lady" and "the worst Karen they have ever dealt with," and then deleted their reply before posting the one you see below several hours later, I've decided to clear a few things up.
By the way, I'm a guy, so calling me "Lady" is hilarious. My fiancƩ asked for cheese on our kid's burger, which DID get fixed. The "Karen" in question that they are accusing me of being below, was the woman sitting next to us at an outdoor table. So no, they have no idea who I am individually.
Again, professionalism has gone out the window at this place. You have an image to maintain as a business, and lashing out like a keyboard warrior does...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I have been wanting to try Nick's for quite some time and finally got the opportunity yesterday. We were prepared for long lines but was pleasantly surprised that it was not too crazy busy about 1:20 p.m. It was President's Day so maybe we got lucky. There was plenty of parking available and easy access off the main road. Walking inside the place was a little small BUT that is what I would expect from a small town business. They had about about a dozen tables to sit at but they were all filled. Luckily it was a beautiful day out and they had plenty of seating outside under a shade structure with a fan. We decided to go with the classics, I got a cheeseburger with Bacon, lettuce, tomato and their 1000 island dressing, hubby ordered a double cheeseburger with ketchup, bacon, lettuce and tomato. We both got their seasoned crinkle fries and we were excited to see they had a large selection of bottled sodas. He chose peach soda and I got an RC cola. They were ice cold! š„¶ The cashier was very welcoming. We waited outside for our number to be called, they have an intercom system so it was nice to not have to stand inside where it was a bit crowded and stuffy. It did take awhile but the food is cook to order so we knew ahead of time to bring our patience. Although my burger was missing the tomato, we were not disappointed! The food was amazing and lived up to the hype. It was packed full of flavor and not overly greasy which I love. The cheese was perfectly melted and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The seasoned fries were crispy and loved the seasoning. Back in 2010, we went to NYC on vacation and tried a popular burger joint called Shake Shack in Madison Square Park. It was the best burger and fries my husband (who's name is Nick) has ever had. Until now. He gave Nick's the highest praise by saying he finally found a place that was just as good! š š¤¤ We will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOkay guys. If you're in Lexington or Winston Salem or anywhere Welcome, NC pull your vehicle into this place. Make sure you got plenty of time because I think the whole town eats here. I was told my order would take 45 minutes because people were lined up to the door. Not to mention the drive thru. They lied! It took them 27 minutes, I timed them. The parking lot was packed and people were EVERYWHERE!
I googled places to eat in Welcome and was looking for a Mom and Pop place to support. I've been on a cheeseburger craze lately and when I found this on my search I knew this was the place. Told the waitress this was my first time here and I was craving something spicy. She suggested the "Noah Burger" since it's made with jalapenos. I didn't find it spicy at all but I must have sucked it up instead of eating it because it was gone in minutes. OMG the flavor! I also got the "Munchers" which was their version of jalapeno poppers. Again not spicy at all for me and I think I tasted pimento cheese.
This lovely gentleman about 30 years my senior asked to sit with me while he waited on his order because he's got bad knees. (He was told 45 minutes as well) and we had the nicest conversation and he pointed out the owner. Whom by chance checked on me a couple of times. The kitchen was a flurry of people hustling to get the orders out and I love Chick-fil-A customer service and these lads and ladies were 100% nicer if that's even possible. I'm told by the staff and customers both that's it's like this all day long. Like I said I think the whole town eats here.
As the saying from this Canadian restaurant show "You...
