This is long but worth it...get popcorn. Go to the moral at the end if you're not down for a long read! On October 24 2023 around 5:15 pm the crew at this location displayed a discouraging lack of accountability and remorse for messing up my order in drive thru. I ordered 3 combos, one of which was a 5 piece wing traditional meal with pink lemonade. All was well at the intercom, as the person taking the order repeated everything I ordered with no problem.
Once I get to the window, I pay, then I was pulled up for them to bring out my order. Once I get my order, I look through it because they have given me the wrong items before...and the 5 piece was not traditional. So I get out of my car with my daughter, go inside, get eye contact with one of the many people at the front counter, and say (and I quote), "Hey, I was in the drive thru. This order was supposed to be traditional. Can I get fresh fries with this? I'm going to go back outside." So my daughter and I go back outside to the car while Zaxbys fixes their mistake. 15 seconds later, someone comes out and says, "My manager said there is an upcharge for traditional that you have to pay." At this point my mind is blown! I know traditional costs more than boneless, and I have no problem paying the difference...but it was YOUR mistake! You making me come back in to pay the difference (which was $1.81 BTW), isn't making me any less of an unhappy customer. I pay the difference then get the food. Nobody said anything to me other than here is your recipt and here is your food. That's the no remorse or accountability part. I asked the manager if there is a price fir wasted time, and he said, "No I dont think so"
Most reviews would be done after that... but there's more! I get home and tell my wife and she calls to get the managers point of view. He said, "Yea some people said he came in here, threw the food on the counter and asked for fresh fries. He mentioned that we got his order wrong in previous visits, so maybe that's why he did that." So this manager used hear-say to dictate how he was going to treat one if his customers? That's insane! After his continued lack of remorse over the phone, we proceeded to call Zaxby's headquarters where THEY gave us an apology and are emailing us a $5 voucher on top of whatever the fix for the problem at that store will be.
Moral of the story: check your food before leaving this location and to the workers at this location, a little "I apologize"...
Read moreI tried this restaurant chain for the first time today. I placed an order online, redeemed a reward I had gotten for signing up, and enjoyed the online ordering experience. The mobile site is very user friendly and simple yet informative.
In regards to the pickup experience at this location: I pulled into a pickup spot two minutes before my order was to be ready, and called as instructed on the sign. They told me to come in to get my order, rather than bring it out to me like they had done for another customer (I noticed this as I was ordering in a different part of the parking lot). That was fine, but I really don't like going into places unless I have to, and it seemed odd that they wouldn't bring it out. Nonetheless, I masked up and went in; they handed me my order as soon as I walked up to the pickup spot, and wished me a good day.
Now, for the food: I snuck a few fries as I waited at a stoplight; they were pleasantly hot! I'm quite picky when it comes to fries, but these were so delicious. I'm glad I ordered a basket of them! I tried the regular Signature Sandwich I got (I also ordered the spicy version) when I got home, and sadly, I was not impressed. The bun and the pickles were the only things I liked; the chicken and sauce just weren't for me. The sweet n' spicy boneless wings I ordered weren't terrible, but again, not impressed. They just didn't do it for me. The White Chocolate Macadamia cookies I got, however, did not disappoint. Soft and perfectly sweetened, just the way I love that type of cookie.
Bottom line: I will return whenever I have a need for fries and cookies... and five stars is still deserved, as everything was made well and fresh, the employees were friendly, and my order was correct. I don't hold anything against the chain nor the location, as it's not their fault I don't like their chicken or sauces, so I do recommend this restaurant overall.
P.S.: Y'all gotta get those fries and cookies if you...
Read moreI came here alot, but now only a few times a year, because they have gotten a bit rediculous with everything. The plates they give you are now half the amount of what they were a few years ago, I even had recently my plate, i always get the chicken finger plate, and literally I could count how many french fries were in my plate, because there werent even8 peices. 8. if im paying the cost they charge for fries, I would expect alot more than 8 peices, and yet i constantly get a plate with a few chicken strips, and a few fries, and alot of empty room on my plate, because they are constantly giving less and less, but charging more. Little things do add up, and thats why I would choose to eat elsewhere. the only reason I came was for the taste, but taste goes bad when you dont get anything to eat any more. Then the service......it is also not as good as it used to be. I had to drive through one night, and i cant see around the curve to get in line, and there is a car sitting at the entrance of building, so i pull around them to get in the line, the manager was at that cars window, and came running to me stopping me, telling me they were in line first. there was no one else there in the line, and no indication what to do, where to go, and the manager chose instead to be rude, by telling me to get out the way and drive around, and then she waited there to give me more attitude about it, and then wanted to take my order with the same attitude. Nope. I dont see a reason to continue coming if things continue going downhill at...
