I've been here a number of times but I'm going to use today's visit as an example of why I won't be returning and am taking the time to provide a review warning others.
Food: The food can sometimes be quite good, other times awful. It probably depends who is working and what time you go.
Today I was served several things I would never serve to anyone. Sashimi ordered was randomly sized cubes and scraps. Many of these pieces are filled with silverskin, which would make anyone gag trying to eat it. These are pieces you would only scrape to get scraps for mixed fish like "spicy tuna" or "spicy yellowtail". Eel nigiri was sent out completely cold. Mango sushi was sent out with slices of completely green, unripe and inedible mango. The volcano roll was cut in 1/2" thick slices, except for the ends-- once of which was a cylinder about 2" diameter and 2.5" long (it was like chewing on a golf ball). The nigiri, other than the mango, was well made.
Cleanliness: Every plate and soy sauce dish is covered in a greasy polymerized layer of oil. I have never received a clean plate or soy sauce container. You can see the film on everything and use your fingernail to scrape it off. Its some of the worst I've seen in the industry and I can only imagine their dish machine's water being changed once per day.
Service: The service here is terrible, full stop. You will be ignored. You will be brought food without utensils to...
Read moreThe food is always good when we go, which is what keeps us going back. The wait staff is where the establishment is not always the best. The last two times we have gone we have noticed the wait staff at times comes across rude and cold. This past time we ordered something and they did not inform us they were out of the item, they let us figure it out on our own when we did not receive it. We were asking a question about something and the waitress did not let us stop speaking before she answered and it wasn’t what we were asking. Our water and drink were never refilled and they never asked. We asked for a napkin because we were only given one and she returned with the lesser quality ones. The staff at times looks or acts as if helping or providing a service is an annoyance. My husband and I typically love doing dates at this restaurant, and while the food and the time it takes to get the food out are great, we would consider not returning based on the poor service provided. It gives a very unfriendly presence to the restaurant where as before we were always greeted nicely and even were acknowledge...
Read moreWe got there at 3:40 on a Saturday and the place was empty so that was nice. There wasn't a long wait time for us to get our food considering how much we ordered. The waitresses were very curt but kinda cold and the room itself was cold. It makes sense considering the food but definitely bring a hoodie or something with you. From left to right starting at the top: we got shrimp tempura, spicy salmon, yellowtail jalapeno, the pink roll has soybean paper and mango and a spicy sauce but I can't remember the name, the one with eel is called the Hamden roll and a crabmeat roll. But they were all delicious and we hadn't eaten all day so we cleared the plate 😂 also - when you get ice cream for dessert, they only give you one scoop jsyk The place started filling up FAST after 4. It doesn't take long for it to get loud in there especially when a family with several kids go in and one of them is whining the whole time (no disrespect, just sharing my experience) Also, their weekend prices (Friday-Sunday) are more expensive than the other weekdays AND their prices will be going up in April so keep that...
