I felt the price that I got charged, I think they don’t deserve it. Lockers where broken and it’s one of the oldest building that you can find in town. You need to work 40-50 room past by to get into my room. Even though front desk assistant was good, rooms doesn’t deserve the price that I got charged. You can literally feel the vibrations from the highway which make you feel like you’re getting earthquake

Uncomfortable room; poor lighting, noisy HVAC, worn furniture. I booked a king suite with "kitchenette". Completely worthless as the kitchen has no cookware or utensils. Asked about cookware at the front desk, nothing available apparently. All too typical of budget hotels in my experience. They advertise great amenities, but provide the bare minimum if at all. Not good value.

Horrible and run down. The celing of our room had mold growth on it. The bathroom faucets were poorly fixed and would come out if you twisted the handle to open for any water. Place needs to be demolished or heavily upgraded to be considered livable. For the price it is not worth a penny. I have seen motels with better prices and values.

The main issue with this property was the lack of security and dismissal of my safety concerns when I brought them to the hotel’s attention.

My first impression of this hotel was not a good one. When I parked my car, I got out and looked down to see a pair of women’s underwear in the front lawn area. They were partially covered by mulch and had been rained on, and it was clear they had been there awhile. This was something anyone could have spotted; it was obvious no one was keeping an eye on that area (literally the front near the lobby).

I was assigned a room at the back of the hotel, where I would park at a side door that could be opened with my room key. Right away, I noticed that the lock box was broken off the wall and the exterior door was unlocked. I went inside and saw that the only way up to my room was via a dimly lit stairwell right by this open door. The hotel itself backs up to railroad tracks and is located alongside a fairly busy road in an area that looked a bit deserted/rundown, so the lack of properly secured doors should have been a major concern. (I should also note that when I looked into the stairwell, the heater unit cover was hanging off the wall. These two broken items in the first two minutes of my stay, along with underwear sitting on the front lawn, gave me the impression that the hotel was not being kept up.) So, I went to the lobby to see about an alternative room or (hopefully) a different location that might be safer. At the front desk, another family who had just checked in came up to report the same safety concerns and also to report that the alarm in the room next to the one they’d been given was going off with no one responding to it. The front desk attendant did not seem to take the safety concern seriously at all. He just said that he would call maintenance and have them look at it. This was not fixed before I checked out.

I was given a different room that could be accessed via the main lobby and was on the second floor. The room itself was quite nice; a sitting room with a pull-out sofa and a bedroom with two queen beds. There was a microwave and mini refrigerator as well. The room and bathroom were clean, although the toiletries in the bathroom were not full. Not a big deal at all; just something for the hotel to be aware of if they read the reviews. New, sealed toiletries should be provided for each guest.

However, in checking the room over, I realized my windows did not lock. I was on the second floor, so this was not an immediate safety concern, but I do wonder whether their first-floor windows are the same. If so, that needs to be addressed.

The indoor pool was very nice; warm water and plenty of chairs. They did not stock more than 2-3 towels while I was there and there were no towels at all the second day. Also, other guests had left behind several pairs of swim goggles and pool toys and they were not moved or cleaned up at all during my stay. It looked as though they don’t check in on the pool very often, or those minor issues would have been taken care of.

I ate at the restaurant twice and both times, the food was good and service was pleasant. The included breakfast was very good; our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and kept bringing fresh portions of hot foods to refill the various stations. The selection was actually impressive.

Overall, the hotel itself was decent, but the lack of maintenance showed general disregard for guest comfort and the security concerns would prevent me from being comfortable enough to stay...

I cannot say how thankful I am for the incredible service we received from everyone at the Best Western Plus North Haven! My husband and I planned our wedding in CT, as I am from NY and he is from MA and we wanted a middle ground. After meeting with Corrine and explaining what we were looking for and how we would have to base most of our wedding day events at the hotel, she assured us they would be able to accommodate. We ended up booking our rehearsal dinner on site, blocking off a ton of rooms for our guests, and were so happy with how everything turned out. During the planning process I had so many questions for Corrine and she was always so pleasant and extremely timely in responding. She gave us regular updates on the rooms in our wedding block and checked in with us often regarding the rehearsal dinner and shuttle service to and from our venue. When I asked about adding extra goodies to the hotel welcome bags (that they provided) for our wedding guests, Corrine said that she and the staff were more than willing to add whatever we wanted to the bags. When guests booked outside the block and I asked about giving them our own welcome bags, not a problem at all. She was more than accommodating in my million requests and inquires, and made the whole process so easy. The hotel staff even gave us permission to have the DJ set up in the bar and play music for the after party!

When we arrived for the rehearsal dinner everything was beautiful, and the staff and service was top notch. 2 of our out of town guests from Texas were delayed coming in and the staff brought out hot food and fresh desserts once they made it to the dinner.

We booked the bridal suite and 2 other suites on the second floor from Thursday until Sunday, and the rooms were beautiful. Our hair and makeup team had plenty of space to do their thing on the morning of the wedding, and the room was spacious enough for all of us to get ready and hang out. Housekeeping was wonderful with helping to get the suites situated for pictures, even with 10 girls running around the rooms. The photos in the rooms and outside in the hallway came out great!

Guests were extremely happy with everything - from the front desk attendants who helped sew a ripped dress back together, to the bartenders and management staff who made sure the groomsmen had a great time the night prior to the wedding, how everyone treated our rowdy crowd wonderfully when we returned to the hotel after midnight on the night of the wedding, the breakfast service at Harry's, to the bags with chocolates and champagne in the rooms...everything was wonderful!

My husband and I loved the bridal suite, and enjoyed the champagne and chocolate covered strawberries we found in our room after returning from the wedding and after party celebration.

Everyone was so friendly, professional, accommodating and just made the whole process run so smoothly. Many thanks to Corrine, Michelle at the desk, and the staff at Harry's (Janice and Brian??) for the exceptional service. We highly recommend the Best Western Plus North Haven and will certainly be back when our travels bring us to the North Haven...

The hotel is extremely dirty and rundown. I waited over 15 minutes at the front desk to check in because no one was there. I was sent to our first room on the first floor down a hallway that was so cloudy with cigarette smoke. My daughters eyes instantly started to water and a headache from the strong smell of cigarette smoke. I immediately went to the front desk and asked for a "non-smoking room/area" of the hotel. She proceeded to tell me this was a non-smoking hotel and that she would have security look into but she would change my room. She also stated that people smoke in the courtyard and it comes in. Then she sent me to a second floor room. My daughter and I approach the room to find a do not disturb sign on the door. I knocked and could see a light was on inside. No one came to the door so I used the key, which worked to unlock an already occupied room. The bathroom light was on, tv was on and clothing hanging in closet. We proceed back down to the front desk again and I told her that I'm leaving and that she now gave me a room that was occupied. She report she will have security check that too because according to her records no one should be in the room. I also noticed that my check in printout was folded on the front desk with my name and signature easily viewable to people and it was there when she wasn't at the desk. I then had to wait another 20 minutes for her to walk us up to a new room which was again above the courtyard. She offered us up to $40 of free dinner at Harry's Bar & Grill. I should have gone with my gut and left but she said I had booked through a third party and that it would be a long chain of events to get my money back but then in the next breath said that it would be fine her manager would take care of it. I have never felt more unsafe especially traveling with a young girl that needs to sleep for a dance competition in the next town. I did not sleep at all the whole entire night as thoughts of my information being out in the open, the uncleanliness of the place and the other "clientele" and our safety and the intermediate moments of smoke coming through the heater. Other members of our dance team arrived and found rooms to be disgusting, one with a large red stain on the carpet of her room. I write this review from my room after not sleeping at all. I will be calling the third party booking company and hopefully speak to an actual manager after we are home! **At check out I asked the front desk woman (same woman from the night before) what she did with the folded paper with my name and signature on it that was left out on the desk and she was quite nasty with her response, “it’s been filed”. I reminded her that I wanted to still hear from her manager and again rudely then said that she doesn’t know why and that her manager was on vacation and not expected until next Monday. When I checked in and was threatening to leave she said her manager would...
