First time at Papa John's. Very disappointed... not in the food, but the service. We called in a delivery order for 2 papadias and 2 pizzas. We wanted a thin crust pizza that wasn't part of the two medium pizza deal. So the worker told us about the two large pizzas and 2-liter soda that does include the thin crust. (the two medium pizza deal doesn't include thin crust.) The thin crust pizza was the main item I wanted, so we worked with what they had for a special. We ordered, he repeated, all good. We get the delivery (on time, mind you) and we start to eat. We didn't realize the the pizza was not thin crust, but original, but didn't realize before two pieces were gone. We called to correct it and the worker seemed like he didn't believe us. We tried to explain that we were on the phone for quite a while with the first guy ordering and he cut us off and told us that we had to return the pizza to receive another one. I have never been asked this before! Working in the food service industry, I know that the pizza would just be thrown away. We even asked, "Are you going to throw the pizza away?" and he said yes!! We asked to talk to the first guy we ordered with, but he wasn't available. The delivery came and the driver asked for the incorrect pizza and said, "my boss is asking for it." WHAT?? This was the first time I have eaten Papa John's and after the way they made me feel, I will never use them again. The pizza was just wasted? Thrown away? I would have rather went without than be made to feel like a scam artist....
Read moreI recently placed an order through the Papa John’s website for three large pizzas: one cheese, one pepperoni, and one with pepperoni, sausage, and pineapple. While adding the pizzas to my cart, I initially forgot to include pineapple on the sausage and pepperoni pizza. When I went back to edit that specific pizza, I simply clicked the “veggies” option to add pineapple, not realizing that doing so would remove the other toppings from the pizza. I assumed the pepperoni and sausage toppings were still part of the order, so I proceeded to checkout without double-checking. Unfortunately, when I picked up my order and got home, I discovered that the pizza only had pineapple on it. Naturally, I was upset and called the store to explain the situation. The store associate I spoke with was very rude and dismissive. Instead of trying to understand the mistake or offering a solution, she questioned why I would order a pineapple-only pizza if that wasn’t what I wanted. I explained the issue again, but she insisted there was nothing she could do. I understand that the mistake may have occurred during the online ordering process, but I genuinely believe it could have been resolved easily by remaking the pizza with the correct toppings and charging me the difference if necessary. Kids could not eat it because it had peppers all over it. Once I got home I called them explained what the situation was. Manager says he’ll send me another order. Hour goes by still no pizza, I call back he says he will make it personally and have it expedited straight to my house thru DoorDash or something due to no drivers at this location. Another hour and sometime later goes by I finally get the order after 12:30 am, by now kids are sleep and had to eat something else. When I received the second order it was still wrong. I didn’t receive what my daughter wanted (bread knots) for the second time. And the 2 pizzas I ordered were still wrong. I’ve been going here for a long time and now I won’t be. Now if the manager made my order how the heck he still get it wrong and he read the order to me over the phone. Twice.
